New Clique forming

Postby Latreg » Sun Oct 16, 2005 3:38 pm

here's the idea (again) looking for people who wish to start a new character right now we talking elf but any race would be fine, no power leveling and we only use gear that we get ourselves as if there was a pwipe/gear wipe, we can set up time for rp or whatever, basically we can make out own rules, but you must be willing to abide by the rules. If there is enough interest we can flesh out the rest of the guidelines. Post your interest and or suggestions.

Not to be a downer, but why not do it as evils? Elves are fun, ill be the first to admit that but I would think evils could use the boost moreso?

It doesn't matter to me what race, I just tossed that out as an example, one person that was interested wanted to play gnomes..... basically if we can gather enough interested people we can pick a race and set up some guide lines. So far there hasn't been a lot of interest, which is what I expected so we'll probably end up as a good race because we'll need the numbers for group.

I'd dig this if it were evils. Not sure about it all being a single race? You'd pretty much have to pick either drow or yuan for that to work.

What would be the target hours of operation for such a group?

This sounds like a great idea, I'm guessing many of us don't know menzo so it would be like being a newbie and exploring all over again.

So now we need to know what class you all want to play, that way we can have a mostly complete group.

So we're all doing Drow with hometown of Menzo?

Sounds like an interesting game to play.

We need a girl though, they don't allow male clerics around those parts.

I've got one low-level drow enchanter already, no reason I can't make another.

I'm usually around in the 6pm-10pm Central timeframe.

This kind of piqued my interest if I were to mud again because of the non-powerlvling and what-not. Hmmmm....

I already have a duergar cleric (can't remember lvl) would I have to roll for a totally new char?? If so, I may not get involved because of my time constraints.

Edit: Ahh nevermind, looks like it's gonna be a drow thang. :)

I'm merely seeing if I'd have some time for this kind of creativity! It seems like it would be fun.

Hey! I just remembered why I never really stuck with evils on toril. Some players have some long difficult names to spell out. I'm a hands on keyboard kind of gal, I don't bot or have fancy scripting on the mud client I'll be using. =p

Dived-necro
some of the rules I'll toss out there for approval is, hand outs, always split coins, if not hand outs, you bid for someone else, not yourself. We should also do our best to "grow up" together, exp wise. So we can all remain about the same level, your mileage may vary.

You are correct, they do have a better class selection. I think the real driving force with the drow choice is just for people to experience newbie life growing up in Menzo. Not many people have actually done it.

In fact, most of us old players haven't even ventured into Menzo.

If you want a real challenge, is there any reason other races couldn't venture forth and try to meet up with us in Menzo under the same general idea? I don't see why not. I'm not sure how the race restrictions in Menzo fly myself, but there's always a sure-fire way to find out.

In keeping with this and the idea of getting some "rules" together for it, I think maybe the general rule is play whatever you want, try to meet up in Menzo, progressing under the idea of playing immediately following a pwipe.

I think, perhaps, the best way to attempt this is if we can somehow form an assoc for this purpose.

I was thinking about rules. OK, I briefly thought about rules, for maybe 20 seconds. Here's my bid for a ruleset:

1. No levelling in Scardale
2. Live off the land, i.e. no hand-me-downs from alts or other players

This is a lot more complex than my first stab at a ruleset, which was
Rule 1: there are no rules

not leveling in scardale would be a bit rough. lastnight we had 7 of us to start with and we must have gone through at least 20 rothe and we were all looking at 4%. i mean yea for a big group its a bit obvious. but thats what we are planning. on menzo there is no eq that a level one could get there is no even ok xp for a group. its a bit on the rough side. the point is to encourage people not discourage them. so i propose that scardale be alloed untill level 10 sothat we can at least get our feet on the ground and have some lowbie eq to back us up.

Well after last nights exscursion lets try again for some rules...

Scardale till lvl 5 at least maybe even 10...
-It was another day in Menzo when the drow began their harvest of the rothes, but once the fields flowed with blood it became clear that our strength in numbers overcame our strength in sword and magic, or to explain it better is hailey...
http://www.giantitp.com/cgi-bin/GiantITP/ootscript?SK=158
so long story short we hit scardale for some lvls and a little quest eq, woot spiked hammer!

No outside help with eq or lvls
-What i'm thinking is that it's ok if we help our own? Once again we run into the problem of larger groups gettin' penalized for exp. *will start new thread for that later*

A little more RP which means respect for our priestesses
-plus they're girl, guys, omg girls!!!

but omg that was fun last night
Please feel free to roll a drow and join us, if ya see tafah on somethin' happenin', send me a freakin' tell!

I rolled up Iqhas, drow necro, last night and I have to say that I had a blast leveling all the way up to level 4 with the other drowbies. As far as my thoughts on rules go, hmm...

I thought it was perfectly alright to have exp'd in Scarsdale last night. As was mentioned several times, it would've taken forever for us to level (except for Tafah the rogue LOL) and I probably would've been level 2 after the two-ish hours of exp I did. Then there's the issue of finding eq upgrades, etc. (which I didn't see much of in Menzo). Limitations on eq: no getting stuff off alts/storage, hand-me-downs should be limited to only those from other group members. I can't wait to lead ET a scad of times for zoneable eq, guys :) As for grouping with non-drow, I'm not sure where I stand with that. I'll follow the flow of the more vocal of those involved. :)

But most importantly, I really did have a blast last night and can't wait to get in on the action again. Exp really is much less of a hassle when the company is good. :)

I agree with Birile...last night was a blast. Menzo was rugged to start with, so we went to Scardale. Most of us are now level 3 - 5. I DO think, however, that a level 5 - 7 limit should be put on Scardale. Just be there enough to make ourselves competitive in Menzo. After that, I think the challenge of Menzo would be fun. Just a thought.

As far as rules...
-agree with no hand-outs
-hand-me-downs from within group only
-no p-leveling
-I suggest we pool the loot as a group...and upgrade eq for whomever needs it the worst.

Just some ideas.

Anyway, Helmaz will be on temporarily throughout the day.....just waiting for others to come on so we can continue.
