Invoker exp tables

Postby Ashod » Tue Nov 18, 2003 10:25 am

I just want to know why invoker exp table is so freakin
high. It is kinda annoying to be the only mage class in
the game that can't solo but has a high experience table.
this is quite annoyin seeing as invokers seem to be
the prime target for incomming mobs and switched
too, meaning they die more.

would be nice to see something to help us out

A)make high lvl coldshield and fireshield for invokers
that possibly vamp a % of the dmg done to it or continues
to burn or freeze the mob even after they stop hitting kinda
like inferno.

B) drop the table slightly.. it takes entirely to long to do
experience at higher lvls if your lucky enough to find
a cleric willing to do smoke exp.. and that is about all there
is to do for exp for invokers otherwise your battling the 3 liches
in druid sanctuary doing solo exp.

C)I am sure there are other things... input would be nice.

Invokers arent meant to tank, period.
You sold your soul for insane damage...and this is the price you got to pay.
Besides, should I rant too for not being able to solo exp? I cant solo smoke, cause i have to heal myself all the time (stone only last long enough to cast one damage spell or 2, and still I have to remem severel times to finish one air mephit).

But anyways, you arent totaly depended on clerics to do exp, grab a chanter, or a shaman...or make a group bigger then 2 ppl?

PS.Its easier for a voker to get a group at 1-41 level then a shaman can...so dont make me write an identical post like yours :P

Invoker exp tables are high because they do the most damage of any class in the game. They are therefore deemed a "powerful class" and hence worthy of a large amount of exp to reach high level.

That being said, I personally found invoker tables to be easier than elementalist ones. Also, before smoke exp I'd agree with you that levelling an invoker was long and painful. But with smoke in now.. it's really quite simple and fast. Think my invoker went from 46-50 just 2-manning smoke in about 4 nights. Took around 15-16 hours total I believe. I dont think that's particularly painful for a class with the might of invokers.

Also, just in general, I am really against lowering exp tables for mages. It's something that helps justify the powers we get at the higher levels over melee.

enchanters is the worst that I have seen as compared to invoker, enchanter, squid, dire raider, warrior, cleric, shaman, or rogue.

cleric exp sucks if your grouping with more than 2 people. If the group is larger than 5 then your basically just doing charity work.
and tonights winner in the Toril EQ lottery is demi belt and skull earring!

Invokers can't solo? Maybe they can't solo after 36....but I have soloed 2 vokers to 36...and with eq that wasn't all that great.

Soloing to 31 was pretty rapid....but getting 36 did take a bit but was/is doable.

But then again...you may have been talking about above 36 solo ability...dunno....just my 2 coppers.
