Shrug I dont see why not, you can have Elven Rogue, and a Human Rogue.. so if both parents can chose the profession why not have their offspring be able to chose that profession.
Dugmaren mutters in a surly voice 'Got any new strategy or going to continue with the "throw bodies at them til they get bored"? '
Dranth group-says 'i started drinkin when i found out galzar would be here'
Nerox says 'careful she goes from 0 to bitch in .00000001 seconds'
Mugo ASSOC:: 'ah got it on my gaytimer now :P'

I think you'd have all of the elf rogues delete and reroll into half-elf if this happened. They'd get the elven benefits, but have more hps and better strength to drag for crs. I think this is one of the reasons there are limited class choices for half-elf, because they'd be substantially better than any other choices.
Half-elves are just humans with infravision and one extra ac notch.
What would be the difference between half-elf and grey elf?
Half elf - about 50 more hp and 1 more damroll, and can drag heavier corpses without need of max_str
Grey elf - extra hitroll, extra dex attack, 2 more agility notches, higher intelligence
I dont' see all grey elf rangers/bards/druids rerolling as half-elves. Grey's do offer quite some difference that some people like. The only issue I would see is that half-elf rogues would be superior to human rogues, much as half-elf bards are superior to human bards. But again this is moot since dorf rogues are already far superior to human rogues :)

Ok, now that I've stopped laughing I can respond. You are worried that half elf rogues would be better than human? You are kidding right? Cause that is the standard.
drow illusionists?
