2h shield

Postby sok » Sat Jan 08, 2005 12:26 am

are their 2h shields in the game?

if not i think this would be cool. better ac nicer stats to compensate for lack of melee. also good for rp session like that wimpy guy in dungeons and dragon, the cartoon.

If a shield were to require 2 hands it would be ungodly encumbering. Nothing turns up on 2 handed shield on the net when I just checked. Would be nice to use 2 types of bucklers maybe tho. Would be nice to elbow/forearm smash with them.

I'm not sure a 2h shield is a good idea. Or, if it was implemented, it should make your attacks = 0.

I like the 2 shields idea better, kinda like dual wielding. Gives added bonus to shield block, spunch and bash, but you lose parry and riposte because of it.

Tower shields would require both hands to use/carry. But yeah, they would effectively negate any attacks that could be made as you're basically standing behind a door :D

Feh-my gnome *so* wouldn't need two hands to carry a tower shield...*snicker*...I'd need a forklift :(

thats the idea. to have zero attack and better defense. warriors are basically meat shield anways. this would just help them stay alive longer.

I think it would actually make tanks easier to kill - it would just give them a clean burial beneath the shield when they died!

It may give a bonus to shieldblock, but would definitely cause them to lose parry/riposte, and probably dodge. At this point, Rer's AC with no spells is about -130. An extra 10-20 AC isnt going to make THAT much of a difference, when I lose so many skills in the process.

how about it upping your shieldblock and your deflects. increase your bash & shieldpunch. give it an absorption ability against breath weapon and area spells.
