Postby Talkryz » Wed Mar 16, 2005 1:23 am

I was wondering it'll be great if casting earthquake in water zone will create a tsunami doing lots of damage.

Chain Lightning in water should fry everyone... At least a tsunami could theoretically be targetted... Altho, it might push mobs into the next room or something...

There was a Death Knights of Krynn, Dark Queen of Krynn, etc series of games (AD&D based) in the mid 1990's. One 'adventure' was underwater. The 3rd lvl spell 'Lightning' while underwater was = to an underwater fireball in area, except the radius was slightly smaller. Chain lightning was controllable on another game I played but I don't think Krynn series had Chain. Since Chain hits the closest target, it wouldn't really get back to your party unless it were so effective, it killed the targets and was still abundant anyway.

A tsunami does nothing underwater. All the action is on the surface.

Chain lightning does bonus damage if cast underwater, IIRC. It's been a while (years) since I checked on it, so take that with a grain of salt.

There will be some adjustments to the way certain damage typed spells work underwater in the future, but maybe not as grand as you're thinking here..
