Arena has been kind of lacking in participants lately. I was thinking of starting up a "Best of the Best" no holds barred fight club.
If people would be interested, it would probably take place on Sunday afternoons or evenings (whatever makes it easier for the participants).
I will be willing to moderate it if none of the imms want to.
You would have to sign up in advance.
My off-the-hip rules:
No spellups before entering (The moderator would stand in the entry room and look at each contestant, if he/she nods at you, you are acceptable, if he or she points at you, you are disqualified for cheating) On the room nod, both participants are able to enter the arena.
From there, everyting is legal. . .all potions, spells, poisons, etc. Put them on load them up get rocking.
I suggest having class v. class brackets to start (rogues vs. rogues, warriors vs warriors, etc). Once the winner of each class is decided, a random roll is done to decide who will face whom.
When the winner emerges, they are the crowned winner for the week.
*My Opinion Only* If the imms get involved, I would suggest perhaps a prestige boost just for being involved, with larger prestige boosts going for each win, the overall weekly winner gets an even healthier prestige boost.
If enough people are interested, I will run this (even though I want in on the fun). If not, well it was worth a shot.
Please post comments and ideas on how to make it better. . .as I said, this is off the hip.

I didn't take that into account Nek, thank you for bringing it up. I'd like to see what other people interested in the fights think of it.
Also I just got to thinking, if there is enough interest, we could put teams together and have 2-man 4-man etc. teams that would fight each other. That could get quite interesting and take the whole guild thing to a new level :)

You would HAVE to have immortal intervention to make this work. Otherwise it would be complete chaos.

Whats to stop someone from using buffs you cannot see such as haste/armor/bless?
How are you supposed to count kills from people who die with procs? The arena does not report those at all.

This idea has a lot of merit.
It would take a god to make it work. The reward should be a restring, run a round robin tournament over several weeks to months. It would be all of the same class fighting each other. One restring for each class and a plaque somewhere so we could know who was the last champion for each class.
