Alignment-only EQ

It makes no sense. It's a problem I've had here since the beginning. I can understand having alignment restrictions on some specific pieces, based on the item name, god, etc. But most of the time, it's a flag that takes away from the item. Having random boots be !good or an eyepatch (?!?) be !neutral just makes no sense 75% of the time. Random example: burnished leggings are !evil. Why? Because they came from a good aligned mob? Who cares. I'm sure a murderer could wear my pants if he killed me. I know SOMETIMES it's done due to "balancing" the item, which just means evils wont do the zone, or viceversa. Lose the flag, unless the item is called the bloody stool of a murdered halfling, items shouldn't use the !align flag as much as they do.

It does seem like there's quite the glut of equipment for certain alignments, almost as if it's all sentient and wants to be good or evil.
