Mercenary & Merchant Guild

Postby teflor the ranger » Tue Aug 28, 2007 3:08 pm

A shop/mob/guild where players can create or accept contracts to do work.

Touk is fresh out of eyepatches and needs a new crescent eyepatch. He has little time to go out and do the work for himself for the next couple of weeks, so he wanders down to the M&M and places a contract for anyone who can deliver one. The contract is valid for two weeks, pays 800 platinum coin. The contract costs 1200 platinum coin, which Touk leaves with the guild.

Maxler is the man for the job. Sure, it's not a Compewter, but he happens to have a crescent eyepatch in his bag and a need for 800 platinum (how else can he pay the ladies?). Maxler accepts the job, but first must pay a 400 platinum deposit.

1) Maxler fails the contract and it expires before he can find it in his bag. After all, he only had two weeks to look through the grubby thing. Maxler losses his 400 platinum deposit and Touk is refunded 800 platinum. Poor Maxler, how will he ever pay the ladies now?

2) Maxler decides to cancel the contract, forfiets 200 platinum and gets 200 platinum from his deposit back (there's a week left in the contract), and the contract returns to the pool of jobs. There must have been some compewters nearby, for Maxler has something better to do..

3) Maxler wins and finds his crescent eyepatch next to the half-eaten sandwich and some old compewter parts. Maxler turns over the eyepatch, and recieves his deposit of 400 platinum, as well as the 800 platinum awarded by the contract. Touk can now pick up a new crescent eyepatch... if he wants it.

Proceeds to benefit the bastard children of dirty minded elves.

For a price, the handler can offer some information about the item.
