Skill Practicing & Guild master limits

Postby hagah » Sun Aug 10, 2008 12:05 am

Can we please remove the caps on what a guildmaster can teach you, skill wise.

If I have a level 50 character, I would like to be able to max all my stats by practicing them at my guildmaster for an increasing ammount of platinum.

Maybe that last dodge notch costs me 20,000 platinum. So be it.

This would be a great platinum sink, and reduce the monotony of practicing skills.

Thanks for your consideration,
Hagah

I'd like to be able to buy stats by trading in 100%XP at lvl 50.

I agree too, but 20k for any skill is way outrageous

I think this idea has a lot of merit. People in real life are not born with set levels of physical or mental talent, it is trained. People that work harder at it generally have the better attributes. This would be an excellent way, even if a time consuming one, of building a characters set attributes up.

I have put a lot of time into creating good
triggers to bot while I am at keys, to practice
skills. It would be a shame to waste that on
some type of reasonable way of gaining skill
notches. So I am against this.

I thought, surely he was being facetious, so I didn't reply at first. Reasonable is always better isn't it?

Anyway this kind of plat sink would be great looking forward to it in the next boot :p

I think it would be fun to impliment this in a slightly "skewed" fashion. How about flagging certian mobs as "trainers". Depending on the ability of that mob at a particular skill, they can train you to a level higher than your guildmasters max. They may require a small quest, or money, or just be extremely rare to find. Could place them as "quest" mobs in higher level zones, or whatever too... Just a thought to mix things up a little.

Or put trainers in the final rooms of seldom-done zones, and let each person train one skill from each trainer per boot.

(Or one skill per trainer period)

There are a few skills I would pay a lot to max. E.g. assassinate and summon totem.

Besides those I don't mind skill praccin.

So What if the Hometown Guildmasters can only master you in certain skills and you can either practice the rest on your own or go quest to find the Hidden Hermit Master of Mounting. To pay to master your Mount skill. Or any other skill, Then you can pay them to train you.

There was a mud that started with a D that did this. There were some skills you could only learn at certain people as well.
Lilithelle stops using a softly throbbing piece of flesh.
Gura group-says 'ill go solo the biznatch, just don't tell Stamm'
Kossuth responds to your petition with 'is it bad that the two words i think of when i see yer title are hottub and cthulhu? :('

Duris has stat pools at the end of some zones that can raise or lower your stats. And there are spec mobs and epic skill mobs, but neither of those are really "trainers" in the normal Toril sense.
