Yah well, had you not been hit someone could have healed you. Don't you know that's how that works when you get to -17 hps?! You're not really dead. Dead doesn't kick in until around -25 or so hps. It's kind of like the smoke mephits when after you killed them they say something like, "You still can't kill me!" Had you completed your spell, I would imagine you would have arrived at -100 or so...DEFINITELY DEAD! There's no problem with the feedback message. It's your understanding of the process that needs upgrading. LOL

I like to cast ball of lightning when Maxler is casting inferno. He gets a real charge out of it! Actually, it really pisses him off. I find it greatly amusing. Especially, when we're in Izans fighting for our lives with 2 additional patrols walking in.

Of course it does. But whatever number of hit points you got zapped for, it is theoretically possible to take that much damage and still live (either if you had more hps in the way of gear, or if you hadn't lost 100+ hit points to being whaled on by the giant while you were casting).

What the message means is that if you did finish casting, you would CERTAINLY kill yourself, whereas if you stopped, there was a possibility you might live. Your character therefore stopped casting.
