wth yet again

< 603h/603H 85v/148V >

This slender looking wood-elf hugs the shadows as he stalks
his pray. His cowl is pulled closely around his eyes and his
hands are constantly flexing his daggers as he waits for any
sign of his target to appear. Aged leather armor rest
comfortably around his body, allowing for the elf to
move silently while still offering him some protection.
A slender wood-elf is in excellent condition.

Ok.

A slender wood-elf hits you.
OUCH! That really did HURT!
You miss a slender wood-elf with your hit.
A slender wood-elf hits you.
OUCH! That really did HURT!
The ghast of a huge buffalo barely drains a slender wood-elf.

This was the very beginning of the fight. Send a pet, and yet I tank. . .

The ghast fumbled.
A mob is automatically aggro to a pet owner once it becomes aggro to the pet.
The elf, since it wasn't engaged yet (you've no doubt seen the 'false start' combats when it starts with a fumble), chose to engage you instead.

Fwiw, with a mental I usually order it to kick a target rather than to kill the target, since no matter whether the kick hits or misses, at least it displays an echo to the room. I assume ghasts can kick too, if not then... *shrug*

Yes, they can, as can spectre's, and any other melee pet to my knowledge.

Either that, or use the lag saved from not kicking to buffer a rescue command.

Yeah, I usually use kick too to start w/my ele but since ghasts/spectres vamp I have them kill to start :P

Thanks for breaking that down for me Eilistraee. I didn't even think about that :(

Oh, but two things: When you fumble when you attack someone, you don't keep trying to attack unless you have vicious tog'd on. The ghast didn't 'growl' and attack afterward, he was still engaged. Secondly, when I fumble on 'kill x', since I don't have vic tog'd, a mob won't attack me back unless he dodged or I straight up missed. When I just fumble or stumble (when using cursed weapon) a mob stands there, indifferent.

-So ..given that, why'd the ghast still attack the next round? I guess pets are semi-vicious. They keep attacking unless ordered to flee or if mob is incapped maybe.
