Center of the Stalactite Cavern
A blindingly brilliant, white light illuminates this area, which
has been carefully cleared of all overhanging stalactites and any
protrusions or obstructions on the floor. The source of the light is
impossible to pinpoint because the glare from it is too great. The
only details of the area that can be made out are that there seems to
be some sort of short platform erected directly in the center of the
light. It looks like it stands about six inches off the ground and is
covered with jagged, black blast marks. Some sort of low chanting
emanates from above the sides of the platform, slowly rising in volume
and then falling back down, like the waves of an ocean. Escape from
the light is available in any direction.

Strange. The monster manual gave me a very much different impression of the abilities of various types of grell and thier prefered combat structure/methods.

Looks to me like made him pissy. I woulda reacted in a similar fashion!

This looks to be a case of a misflagged mob. If you can please mudmail the Areas sphere with the area you were in where you encountered it, they can take the Beholder race off.

A grell looks like a giant brain with a beak and 10 barbed tentacles. It should not be treated as a beholder; the closest beholder equivalent would be the deathkiss.

In any case, thanks for locating a mistake and it can be corrected once you inform Areas about the general area where it was found.
