Silly annoyance I have, anyone got a solution?

Postby Gizep » Thu May 12, 2005 1:06 am

Alright, before I made this little trigger, my automapper wouldn't work. Now with it, it does, but it's rather annoying....

Before:
look room

< 418h/418H 112v/112V >
< P: std > A Huge Garden Path
This thirty foot wide pathway is littered with hundreds of beautiful
flowers and bushes, offering an ideal place for relaxation and play.
The path continues to the west, while the fountain plaza is east.
A large cozy looking dais is south of here, amidst the field of flora.
Exits: - East - South - West

This is blowing up the automapper, and just about everything else, So, i made this little thingie to compensate:

Code: Select all

#TRIGGER {~< P~: &%wpos ~> } {#SUBSTITUTE {~< P~: @pos ~>%cr}} ""

Now I get this:
< 418h/418H 112v/112V >
< P: std >
A Huge Garden Path
This thirty foot wide pathway is littered with hundreds of beautiful
flowers and bushes, offering an ideal place for relaxation and play.
The path continues to the west, while the fountain plaza is east.
A large cozy looking dais is south of here, amidst the field of flora.
Exits: - East - South - West

Which, is....perfect except for the annoyance.

1) The color of the room name is fubar.
2) When I say something now, it's fubar too.

Only the color is fubar, and I find it annoying. Is there any way I can capture it into a variable and output it using the same ansi?
As long as we live in this world we are bound to encounter problems. If, at such times, we lose hope and become discouraged, we diminish our ability to face difficulties. If, on the other hand, we remember that it is not just ourselves but everyone who has to undergo suffering, this more realistic perspective will increase our determination and capacity to overcome troubles.

for one thing, type 'display twoline' on the mud
and on your automapper, configure it to search for the room name at the end of the line.

Because you're overriding the line, thus overriding the ansi codes.

You'll have to add colors into your sub if you want it to work right, I believe.

I had the same exact problem. My solution was really easy. Tog smartprompt on. If you're in a group, just tog smartprompt back off unless you have your mapper configured to follow your leader also, which I could never get to work right. The only times I use the condition stuff in the prompt is during fights anyway so smartprompt works wonderfully for me.
