One of the main reasons I've stuck around Sojourn / Toril / Sojourn Again so long is for the opportunity to Role Play. I'm guessing that maybe 10 percent of the peeps playing at any given time actually act in character. I've freaked out more newbies answering questions from them asking, "where you from?" and, "how long has the mud been up?"
hehe
Anyway, everyone knows the "say" command:
say nice shield :P
Tayros says 'nice shield :P'
Good enough for most, here's an RP twist for Zmudders:
ALIAS: isay1
COMMAND: emote grumbles '%0'
ALIAS: isay2
COMMAND: emote angrily barks '%0'
ALIAS: isay3
COMMAND: emote teases '%0'
You get the idea...
isay2 what the hell were you thinking?!?
Tayros angrily barks 'what the hell were you thinking?!?'
It's fun, and it's a twist, but it has limitations, of course; The string, including the verbiage, must be <75 chars long, so keep 'em short.
And register Zmud!

for this alias you dont need the variable after the grumbles, angrily barks, etc (at least in zmud you dont) it will just insert the "emote grumbles," for the alias and use the rest of the text to continue the emote.
my only problem with this alias was that i could never figure out a way to close the quotes at the end of the emote without typing it in, which i never remembered to do :P
