damn that is depressing. at its worst, I'm not sure Iraq or Afghanistan were that bad.

The destruction of its own currency essentially kills the black market, something that communist societies cannot live with.

Allowing individuals to accumulate wealth threatens bloody tyrants and violent ideologues possibly more than anything else.

Neither Iraq nor Afghanistan even come close. They had their own various issues, but one issue neither of them had was an ideological aversion to capitalism.

North Korea has ordered despotism and state killings. Afghanistan is just a disorganized mess. Which one is better? It's kind of special of the day there.
