The Liberal Media's Gap in Conservative Coverage

The goal, as Times editor Bill Keller told then-ombudsman Byron Calame in 2006, was to identify "the [conservative] thinkers and the grass roots they organize" and explore "how the conservative movement works to be heard in Washington."

"We wanted to understand them," Keller said of conservatives.

Teflor sez: If that's not an indicator of bias, it's hard to say what is. Several major media outlets are hiring people specifically to cover conservatives, because they don't have a single conservative among them. Worse yet, they're still hiring liberals to cover the conservatives. You can't get much more one-sided than that.

Washington Post blogger David Weigel resigns after messages leak

Weigel, whose tenure lasted three months, apologized Thursday for writing on a private e-mail exchange that Matt Drudge should "handle his emotional problems more responsibly and set himself on fire." He also mocked Ron Paul, the Texas congressman, by referring to the "Paultard Tea Party."

Teflor sez: Weigel was the Washington Post's reporter on the 'conservative beat.' To Sarvis: You still can't get much more one-sided than that.
