How to Counter a Democrat on Tax Cuts?

Postby teflor the ranger » Sat Sep 11, 2010 8:29 pm

"Why keep any of these tax cuts running? These are not new ideas. They are the same policies that led us into this recession. They will not create jobs; they will kill them. They will not reduce our deficit; they will add $1 trillion to our deficit. They will take us backward at a time when we need to keep America moving forward."

Ah, how to counter moronic Democrat political speech aimed at scaring voters into stupidly cowing to moronic socialistic ideas?
Let's try the words of other Democrats:

"The soundest way to raise the revenues in the long run is to cut the rates now ... Cutting taxes now is not to incur a budget deficit, but to achieve the more prosperous, expanding economy which can bring a budget surplus."

– John F. Kennedy, Nov. 20, 1962

"Above all, we must release $11 billion of tax reduction into the private spending stream to create new jobs and new markets in every area of this land."

- Lyndon B. Johnson, Jan. 8, 1964

"I recommend that Congress enact a series of proposals that will reform our tax system and provide $25 billion in net tax reductions for individuals and businesses."

- 'Jimmy' Carter, Jan. 20, 1978

"Lower rates of taxation will stimulate economic activity and so raise the levels of personal and corporate income as to yield within a few years an increased – not a reduced – flow of revenues to the federal government."

– John F. Kennedy, Jan. 17, 1963

Indeed, they are not new ideas. Nor is this a new recession.
