Max stat items equal to 1

Why do these items appear to not convey
their stats, and also Do they in fact not
convey their stats?

I think it is in the rounding. Try wearing a maxstat+1 item and a maxstat+3 item you should get +4 total.

I am a little unsure what this is doing in areas, but I just want to say that the few +1 max_wis items I have had all worked as expected.

A ring from seelie and an earring from finns keep.

Around rounding then there are stats certain races can't have. I think a barb can't have 115 con displayed no matter what eq he is wearing. either its 114, or else its 116. Mabye that is what you encountered.
