Egyptians gang rape a reporter news keeps it quiet

I've been waiting for the right article. Here it is.

http://www.bostonherald.com/news/opinio ... id=1317384

...But I’m with liberal columnist Richard Cohen of The Washington Post:

“The sexual assault of a woman in the middle of a public square is a story  . . .  particularly because the crowd in Tahrir Square was almost invariably characterized as friendly and out for nothing but democracy,” Cohen wrote.
...
Having 200 “good guys” gang assault a female reporter while screaming “Jew! Jew!” doesn’t fit the narrative. Is that why CBS sat on the story?
...
Or is it the cultural issue? A rape in a bar is a sex crime. But a pack of political protesters who rape a “Jew” in public is a story about culture

Actually, I've seen this story all over the news this week.

The news is that CBS didn't cover their own story for days until other media outlets did.

Thats the point, it wasn't reported at all when the media was portraying the Egpytian protests as secular and peaceful and that it was a triumph for democracy. IE suppressing news that didn't fit with the liberal narrative.

It was reported only several days later after A DIFFERENT news organization broke the story.

FYI there are no news reports that she was raped or gang raped. The title of this thread may be misleading.

Yeah all the news I've seen says sexually assaulted. Also beaten. Not sure exactly what qualifies as sexual assault though.

an extended sexual assault. in the middle east, I guarantee you that means gang rape. They weren't just fondling her boobs while the crowd shouted jew jew jew jew jew.

You have to realize, a woman dressed in western style "invites" rape. its pretty much codified into law that they deserve the rape, the punishment and that the man will go free because its her fault.

According to what details are available she wasn't raped. Of course it's all second-hand information so it's hard to say. What I read was that she was stripped, beaten, pinched and/or bitten, had men rub themselves on her and masturbate on her, but was not penetrated.

I hadn't read anything like that. perhaps I'm spreading vicious lies! Kind of like the white house about the muslim brotherhood being a secular organization!

Dude... give it a rest. Your posts aren't even amusing to read anymore.

To you, perhaps.

well crap, i totally screwed the pooch on this one. she apparently wasn't raped at all.

I blame the media. how the fuk is this a "brutal and extended sexual assault." Were they grabbing her boobs or punching her in the cooch?

Well they stripped her and pinched her body and slapped her. For a long period of time.

At the risk of putting my foot in my mouth again as more facts are relased, this was not a "brutal sexual assault".

The guy who a couple days earlier got the shit kicked out of him on video suffered a more "brutal" assault. If you want to know what a brutal sexual assault is read up on the Darfur, Congo and Somalia. Seriously, imagine an entire village being raped women, children, babies, men.

describing this as brutal is a disservice to people who actually suffer brutal assaults.

Point taken. I'm not sure where that phrase came from. It didn't come directly from Lara Logan.

It's not my place to judge whether a sexual assault was violent enough to qualify for a particular label. Kiryan did, however, use the phrase "gang rape" in the title of this thread when he was trying to assert that liberal media was keeping it quiet to further some kind of liberal agenda.

So I'm not really sure what this thread is about anymore.

yea yea yea, my bad.

You however are in luck as it is my place to judge what qualifies as a "brutal sexual assault" and this was not!

The same exact thing. Just replace "gang rape" with "gang sexual assault" in Kiryan's title and the thread is essentially the same.
