As it became increasingly clear that democrats were going to take over the house, senate and presidency businesses instinctively pulled back investments causing the great recession widely blamed on Bush. The low point was the inaguration of Obama and the confirmation of business's worst fears which sparked the turn around as business again anticipated a return to republican control really taking off and gathering steam with the large electoral wins in 2010. The slight dip in 2010 is explained by the realization that the primary's had resulted in some unelectable GOP candidates which were an unexpected setback in Nov.... either that or because the CIA located OBL's hideout.

you were looking for a cheeky response right?

Yeah. Sometimes it's fun to watch the mental gymnastics you have to go through in order to blame everything on Obama and give Bush all the credit.

Hilarious fact about the indexes: they change who's in the index and they change how each company is weighted within the index.

What you see in the graph: AIG is replaced by Kraft Foods, and GM + Citi group are replaced by Traveler's and Cisco.

You're welcome.

In case you didn't understand: The Dow Jones kicks out underperforming stocks and puts in performers instead.

Rofl - stupidest thread of the year. :)
Having said all that, the situation has been handled, so this thread is pretty much at an end. -Kossuth
