Best Escape Ever!

Postby Bipple » Tue Feb 25, 2003 3:27 am

I was in res effect watching another group fight Paladin/Dragon Combo in Jot tree, res effect ended about 15 seconds after I fled. Wasn't aggro, not sure who he was tracking at start.

A Branch of Yggdrasil, the World Ash
This branch is about fifty feet wide and immensely long. Huge
leaves cast shade upon the ground hundreds of feet below. This
branch affords a good view of the northern part of this land. A
large river is flowing to the north, at the foothills of the
great northern mountains.
Exits: - South - West
A little squirrel-like creature searches for some food.

Trunk of Yggdrasil, the World Ash
The fog isn't as prevalent here. From this lofty perch is a
fantastic view of the land below. It seems to be a valley,
bounded on the north and south by large mountain ranges.
Everything seems to be covered in snow, although a few sparse
patches of green peep through this vast white blanket. Far to
the east a city dominates an immense plateau. A path leading up
and down has been hewn into the tree here. Another branch leads
north.
Exits: - North - West - Up - Down
A single bloody smear mars the ground.

This portion of the trunk is about ten feet above the ground.
The tree does not seem to be rooted to the ground here, rather
it seems to go continue down through a foggy mist. What seems to
be hundreds of branches extend from the trunk in every which way.
Two large branches extend to the north and south, and a few small
structures are visible to the south. With a well timed a jump off
the tree a snow drift is reachable to the east.
Exits: - North - East - South - Up - Down
Corpse of Kohab is lying here. (magic)

Yggdrasil, the World Ash
A mammoth oak tree rises out of a cloud of mist here, and
extends far beyond the range of sight. The tree itself is
about two-hundred feet around, with great thick branches
that also disappear far off into the distance. Yggdrasil
emanates an aura of great power, and glows faintly blue. It
is rumored that this mighty tree touches every known plane
of existence, and is used by the gods themselves to travel
from one plane to another.

A Large Snow Drift
This large snow drift is set against the side of a hill about
ten feet below the lowest hanging branch of Yggdrasil. The snow
is quite soft, indicating a recent snowfall. The hill rises to
the east. The glare of the sun against the snow is nearly
blinding, but large mountain ranges are easily visible far to the
north and south. The fringes of a large glacier are to the
south, and a relatively flat plain extends to the north.
Exits: - North - East - South - Up

This large hill rises about one hundred feet from the base of
Yggdrasil. The hill is covered with several feet of snow. The
slope of the hill is dotted with stunted, scraggly looking pine
trees. The foothills of the Vinsaar mountains start to the
north. A frozen river snakes around the hill to the south and
heads eastward. The top of what appears to be a wooden sign is
barely visible next to one of the pine trees.

You materialize in the smoke plane!
A Roiling Pocket of Smoke
Deep within the quasi elemental plane of smoke all of your senses
seem to be deadened. Sounds are dull and muted, as if heard over long
distances, people standing close to you are blurred by the constant
passing of smoke, and you can't smell anything except the choking
fumes of soot and charcoal. The air is very hot, and
embers float around lazily on the soft currents created by the heat.
Your eyes water constantly to keep the dense smoke out, causing
you to blink often and shield your eyes. Connecting the elemental planes
of fire and air, the plane of smoke mixes elements
from both.

Nice escape, but I'm afraid it ranks 749 on the list of all-time great escapes. Hell, Osama has that topped by a mile. :)
