Im just curious as to Why Items are getting better and better yet the old ones havent been updated?
weapons for example..
+3+1
+2+1
on some old sword that are nice
but Ive seen some new ones with
+4+3
+3+3
on 1 handed weapons.
the Oldschool 2handers are the same lame +'s compared to the new weapons.
Any chance to update sword like ebony/catshead thingy now etc.
I was playing when they downgraded all the +'s, Damage ecspecially, But it just seems that the new items are making the old items horrible.
and i would like to see some of these items more favorable, I know zones are different but not enough to justify some of the new stats.
Honestly why should a GCD have better Dice & +'s than and Ebony?
Same thing with other slots, Im not saying make Giths +5+4 again, but atleast raise the bar on some of these items that where dowgraded so long ago, or lower it on these new items.
Its just starting not to make sense to me.
my 2 cents.
Items old Vs. new(sorry if theres a thread someplace)
In the case of the catshead sword however, that item is an artifact basicly. The stats of 2d7 +3 +1 are actually exceeded by it's currently loading counterpart, the mithril etched longsword (3d5 +3 +1)
Personally, I think that particular sword is balanced quite well for the amount of annoyance it takes to get it. It's probly not justified by the actual difficulty, but you can't have everything.
I would agree that the slashers are sadly lacking as a category. A few more hit/dam on ebony, the mithril bastardsword, and the md bastardsword (goodie) would be a welcome change. As it is, the three swords I can name with +3 damage on them are all easier to attain, and two of them carry significant bonuses besides hit/dam. Not that I would suggest downgrading these items, but bringing the others up to the same level would seem prudent.

.
Well a main reason I brought this up also is I believe that If a Longsword Did damage like it should compared to the dagger now, alot of the melee balance atleast damage wise would be fixed.
My poor warrior Wields a sword only til I get my Skill raises for that LVL then its back to GCD, The proc isnt as good as my sword but I do more damage per attack and its pretty noticable.
D&D Dagger=1D4 Soj=3D5/4D4
Longsword=1D8 Soj=2D9/3D5 :(
well atleast thats the best Dice on a sword I have
I know there are always exeptions to the rule, But for the most part A dagger should be doing ALOT less than a Longsword
2 more of my cents

This isn't just for weapons, with some of the old quests being fixed, I have found a couple items that SUCK to get, and there are 3-4 = > pieces that are much quicker or easier to do.
The problem is that the restrictions of old were taken off of new items, yet those old items made with restrictions still linger.
