Mortally Wounded mobs just won't die

Mortally Wounded mobs just won\'t die

I've already mentioned this, but I wanted to do so again. Sorry if you're already aware of it.

Anyway, mortally wounded mobs are not dying! Heh, I've consistently had mort'd mobs lasting 8 or more rounds before I can actually *hit* them. I'm playing Dornax, a level 7 cleric, and he's still missing mort'd mobs below his level.

It just seems like mobs never miss a PC when he's mort'd, and it makes sense. I mean you just walk up and stab or whack him. Not *that* difficult.

Yeah. It's stupid to be in a 4 man group, and see the following for 3 rounds:

A human peddler is incapacitated and will slowly die, if not aided.

Before someone finally manages to hit and kill it.

Yes, it's true. I wonder if the AC-affect for a morted mob that is supposed to raise its AC is in fact lowering it, making the mob very hard to hit.

This was a problem previously on Sojourn, and I don't think it's new. It may be more noticable with the increased relevance of AC.

Along the same lines as this, I notice that when I get bashed, mobs hit much harder and with more frequency, but this is to be expected.

But when I bash something, it seems that I miss it more. Has anyone else noticed this? Is the AC adjustment for bashed mobs backwards? Does it add 20 AC to them instead of taking away 20 AC points?

It appears as though the morted message is being displayed X number of pc's fighting. I'll have to count to be sure, but that's my take on it.

I have to wonder the same thing Lyt. I levelled a pali to 10 and warrior to 8 over the weekend, and I don't remember a single time where I hit twice in a row after succeeding a bash. Of course at the time I was just thinking that I was being really unlucky, but if you are seeing the same thing, maybe there is something to it.

You will now Always hit sleeping/incapacitated mobs. If you don't, report it to a god. This was silly, and will not be a problem going forward.

Fighting a mob about 2 or 3 levels higher than me.. being a level 1 or 2 yuan cleric... still miss about 50% of the time on incap/mort mobs..

As a level 22 drow necromancer, I miss incap/mort mobs about 50%+ of the time. Heh.

Very annoying since there is the backstab lag, so it takes a while to kill a mob (unlike togging vicious which has no lag between trying to slay the mob).
