I was just checking out the description of the blink spell and it seems to be cool but potentially very dangerous depending on where you are. Has anyone played with this yet?
It seems like it would be a really great way to do a pseudo-rescue if the warrior(s) in the group was having trouble performing a successful rescue and you were in a dangerous area where you wouldn't want to flee out. However, in that situation you wouldn't want to use the blink spell because if the person was rescued before the spell completed then they'd be thrown into another room, which is what you didn't want to have happen in the first place.
Given the downside to this spell, has anyone ever even bothered to use it? It seems to be that as it stands, the spell would never be used. Maybe it should be changed so that if someone isn't tanking then nothing happens? I'd actually use the spell in that case, since it's in 3rd circle and the only other combat spell there is ray of enfeeblement.
For those unfamiliar with the spell, here's the help documentation on it:

Aggressive: No
Cumulative: No
Duration: Instantaneous
Class/Circle: Enchanter 3rd
Type of spell: Teleportation
This spell has two slightly different effects, depending on the situation
it is used in. It may only be cast on yourself or groupmembers. When cast
on a tank who has other group members in the room, the tank will
instantaneously blink out of existence and reappear a few feet away, out of
the enemy's reach. The enemy will switch to another target as soon as the
tank disappears. When cast on a non-tanking group member, or when cast on
one's self when you are without assistance, the target will be teleported
one room away, in a random direction. </font><HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

When was this changed?
AFAIK blink does not let you past locked doors.
OTOH, its an extremely useful spell for moving people out of the room when they can't themselves..
Blink combined with darkness is insanely twinky

Blinking frozen or para'd ppl is quite useful.
Although I would like to know if there is some reason it would fail.
Mine seemed to fail on a victim in Thrym's den.
I think the person suggested they may have been mounted.
Can an Imm check into this maybe, should I be able to blink mounted persons? I think so.
Anyways the spell is worth keeping one memed when you get enough slots that circle.
