Rainbow Patter Feedback

Postby Bopple » Tue Jul 24, 2001 3:40 am

Bah...the Subject broken... "Rainbow Pattern" even. sorry Image

It seems that rainbow pattern still needs some changes.

1. Its success rate is too low. Combined with curse, a bit better. But by the time i finally succeed with curse, mob is almost dead usually. Without curse, it's just a waste of time to cast this spell.

2. The effect is still low. I see no differences between before and after the casting. To the contrary, i feel sometimes they hit a bit better than before.

3. Mobs crits on rainbow pattern.
see below please.

The Zauviir war-leader recognizes you, and charges to attack you!
The Zauviir war-leader misses you with his hit.
You complete your spell...
You create a swirling rainbow pattern in front of the Zauviir war-leader, who seems distracted...
You miss the Zauviir war-leader with your slash.
A doppleganger of Ssifal barely hits the Zauviir war-leader.
You dodge the Zauviir war-leader's vicious attack.
You stagger from a fearsome hit from the Zauviir war-leader!
OUCH! That really did HURT!

Ust Circle - North
A plethora of dark and grisly sights and sounds accompany the gloomy feel
of the dark elven city here. Shrieking wails of pain echo throughout the
dark fog, and the subtle crackling of released magical energy makes the hair
raise on one's neck. An occassional dead or dying slave can be observed,
usually a svirfneblin, laying prone alongside the trail, covered in bleeding
welts and vicious stab wounds, staining the dirt trail crimson with their
spilled blood. The majestic redwood trees stand as silent witnesses to the
evils of the drow, their beauty seeming grotesquely out of place at the
scene of such atrocities. Ust circle continues it's dark path, snaking
along underneath the trees to the east and west.

A water barrel has been left here.
A slaver trudges along here, cracking his whip.
A doppleganger of Ssifal slithers in from the south.

You flee northward!

The House Zauviir Barracks
The sounds and smells of soldiers training and preparing for battle
inhabit this gloomy longhouse that serves as a barracks for the active army
of one of the four great Houses. Sturdy cloth cots are arranged in rows
along the walls, along with weapon racks and shelves containing quivers,
arrows, and other tools of warfare. Pieces of armor emblazoned with the
House sigil are strewn hapharzdly beneath the cots, and several large
tapestries along the walls display past scenes of triumph and loss for this
unit. Dozens of experienced and green soldiers alike stroll about here,
idlly training or simply relazing after a strenuos day. A guarded open
doorway leads back out onto the Ust Circle path.
Room size: Large (L:50 ft W:50 ft H:20 ft)
Exits: - North
Huge puddles of blood cover the ground.
A small pile of coins.
The Zauviir war-leader stands here, observing his troops.
A Zauviir soldier lounges here, polishing his weapons.

not all ouches are crits...that one didnt look too hard...maybe you had stone on tho..(err, probably not if you are an illusionist i guess :P) but if you did then i would say that the spell only goes into effect after the round or something Image

There is blood on the ground tho..so maybe it was, unless blood was from before. If it was a crit, my second explanation is the one i go with! (or it could just be broken :P)
