I wrote over 1k rooms of zones for Exile while Sojourn was down, then every single player went to Sojourn.. Woohow.. that was fun to see the work go unused.

Don't think I could ever motivate myself to make zones again.

I would suggest trying out a program called CircEdit, an editor for circlemud codebase. It really nice and visual to make room files, then fill in rest with text edit or TE buggy tho so save often...
not sure where to download it atm either... Image

You can email cyric to get TE from him. While it IS buggy, once you learn where the bugs are (and how to avoid them), it is quite useful, since you can walk through your zone as you write it and don't need to worry about making sure you get all your ~ in the right place.

Well...

Me and a friend have been working on a java aplet for Sharune Mud, which is used for building. However, the finished product will support several mud formats, and even permit switching from different mud formats.

Like loading in a zone for a smaug mud base and save it with pure diku format.

Also, at the current date it only support one ansi color format, but will be supporting more.

Check it out at www.sharune.com/editor

If Sojourn are interested I could tweak it up to work for the sojourn format of area files once it is finished Image

Ciao.
