You see.. I've got this nice pouch for my daggers and darts, but rogue ranged weapons are not yet in the game.. I'm not bitching, I was just curious as to how the development of rogue ranged is progressing, since I haven't heard anything about it since archery came in..
A simple answer would suffice.. preferrably more than "we're working on it," but I'll take what I can get

Update on rogue ranged weapons?

Not if they smell as bad as I think they do.

Throwing knives and darts (possibly poisoned) doesn't fit in with a rogue class? It's something that I've looked forward to playing a rogue.. the way I envision it, it'll just be used strategically, not as a mode of battle like archery.
And what Ashiwi said gave me an idea.. Rogues could have a choice ala specialization.. Ranged weapons.. or 1h misc.. or maybe even something like garrote.. It's already set up so you can spec in ranged.. and I don't think it'd be too overpowering to allow 1h misc to have a higher cap if you specialize in it.. or to allow garrote to work a little better if you specialize in it, etc.

Laxlez: As interesting as letting rogues or many other classes specialize is, it's something that seems to have gone the way of the dodo. Mages no longer choose a specialty at a certain level and instead start out as a specialist of sorts, druids and shamen are now specialized in their nature and spirit spells respectively, and during the discussions on rangers started by Miax WAY, way back, proposals to let rangers choose between melee and ranged were answered with "no." While it's not as interesting in terms of making a character unique, it is understandable from a balance standpoint. It's much easier to ensure that each class winds up being useful for its primary and secondary functions if their primary and secondary functions are more clearly defined.
