Two rounds and both clerics are down? snort. This is a common occurrence.

Hmm, make the eldritch hard to get.

I'm down with that.

At least make the fight fun so it is worth the exp loss. I don't mind getting spanked, but I am sure you can come up with more imaginative ways to do so than this.

This proc wouldn't be so annoying if it was resistable.

Hrmm, I did this fight last night with no deaths. Hey even the level 26 with me didn't die.

Then again out of 12-15 times i've lead tf... 9-10 of them have been with 0-1 deaths.

Just kill jabber first.. he dies REALLY fast Image

You're right Gromikazer. We're just too dumb to fight the jabberwock correctly. Our problem is obviously that we don't have you for our leader!!

I never said such a thing yayaril. Then again, you can continue to be BBS troll and flame anyone that comes along.

I don't think jabberwock needs to be downgraded. Its significantly hard for the eq it pans out. Thats my opinion, but everyone has one.

Gromikazer, I know how to do the fight. I've done it every conceivable way. The para proc makes it a crapshoot. I never take invokers so he para's my chanters and clerics right away.

Maybe you guys do more damage than us, who knows, but its generally a crapshoot if we win the fight cuz of the para proc.

Sorry Dornax for being rude.
But your post explains WHY you get spanked there.

I think Dornax's post revolves around the fact that the fight isn't much fun, not that it's tough. He said that himself- he's down with it being tough. He's just saying that the proc is really annoying and takes the fun out of the battle when you are sitting there frozen. It's wonderful that you can do the fight without any deaths and are all uber and stuff, Gromikazer, but that wasn't the point of his post. I followed up with a suggestion that would make this fight more 'fun'. It annoys me when mobs have an ability that can't be saved against. What's the point of having saving throws if they don't ever come into effect?

The proc targets invokers primarily. Bring 3 of them, and you're clerics wont get targetted Image

Not bringing invokers here and complain that its guaranteed spanks = not bringing a displacer to padashaw.

Hehe, for those of us with CS and other school projects, time is precious atm.....

Wait until after finals and I'll play Jabber-bitch anytime you need me too.....as long as I get an eldritch or two after the first 20-30 trips to make up for the guaranteed deaths. Image

Yayaril said it best.

Mob procs that can't be saved against generally are no fun. Heck, Lord Entropis' blind proc is kinda cool, because you can readily correct the proc. Thrym's proc is acceptable because you can be blinked out and wear !summon. Para procs like Jabbers are like the epitome of boring. I am not in favor of making the fight easier, it should be darn tough. However, I did want the fight to be more fun, that's all.

By the way, you don't need invokers for any zone. I am a huge advocate of melee damage over invoker damage. Also, I do Padashaw without displace all the time. Image

Your problem is that I was not leading, for then, you would surely be resigned to death already.

Hrmm, Jurd/Dorn ? You mentioned how you can adjust for Thrym's nasty little proc. . . its pretty much the same thing as Jabber's isn't it? You could blink out para'd people =] And/or have folk wear prot eq and pre-consent a ranger (or another class) for a dispel magic so they can jump right back into the fight. (Those effects are dispellable, I believe. don't recall atm). Anyway =) Everyone's experience is different. . . I think I've died at jabber once or twice this wipe. . .so chalk it up to luck I suppose. Just my 2 cents!

In that particular fight where Lirela and I got para'd in the first 20 seconds, I was blinked out. Jabber then roared and walked east and my group was w fighting the elves while Jabber slowly killed me.

This thread can die though, since apparently I am the only one who ever spanks on Jabber. :P

They just said the trick to jabber is to take more invokers to avoid spanks. You said you don't like grouping invokers. Kind of a mute point then.

You people can relax a bit, fixing Jabber is on the list. Its going to take a while to balance out, and expect it to actually get harder, it won't be quite as cheesy with para, but it will get harder.

I've started a new job recently, so my changes are going to be a bit more spread out, but they will get it, you can be assured of that.

Im glad to see the proc going away, I'd rather see a dozen more druids added to that fight then watch key groupmates removed from the fight in the first round from something we can't prevent Image

Whats an invoker?
