Illithid Shopkeepers

Postby gnerble » Fri Apr 06, 2001 5:44 pm

Maybe some code can be added so they project their messages instead of trying to 'say' them?

The merchant Xelrelinak studies some business receipts.
A scrawny goblin enters from the south.

Xelrelinak tries to communicate something but can't!

One time I asked if I could re-make the Illithid hometown from scratch since I know everything there is to know about them. I was told that creating a town (not just a hometown) was too hard for a first timer. Image They wouldn't even give me the zone creation tools to let me fiddle with it and try.

Oh well. I guess I understand.

Gnerble: Heh, I'll look into that.

Izi: As someone who's made two hometowns, I would also suggest that you start of with something smaller. Maybe work on a small UD zone that could attach to the hometown you plan on building? Just a suggestion, Areas is not my sphere. Image

Or just have have Cyric crack his whip across your back to get a 300 room hometown done in two weeks.

'Gnerble: Heh, I'll look into that'

Since I know gnerble's idea of ix mobs/shopkeepers being actually able to communicate has been mentioned many times befor, My question is what exactly is the normal chain of events when someone discloses
the shortcommings of a some part of the mud. In this case areas.

What happens if the area maker is no longer around?

Is there a list that these things are put on?

Would you considering making a separate list that is public, for lack of a better name called the list of 'crap you told us about we dont agree with so we arent doing.'

Would you also consider making a list of 'crap we do agree with but are too overworked to get to now.'

So you could stop having to respond to stuff already in the works.

Thanks for your time and energy Image

There's already a place for that type of stuff, called the Development Board, a section of this BBS.

Laugh, as a former beta tester of Squidom, I find it truely ironic that this of all things should get attention now after years of wondering and asking about it. Better late than never as always Image
