Quivers

Postby Lasar » Wed Jun 05, 2002 6:45 am

Mmmm'k here goes... why is this slot universal? Granted it is necessary for ranger to carry arrows and it was used for rogues because rogues were (or may still get) going to have ranged daggers or something. But it seems as though it is extraneous for other classes to have this slot. I know that Yuan-ti do not have feet and leg eq because, well, they lack feet and legs and this is obvious but why a cleric or a paladin would be running around with a quiver other than to fill a slot or possibly be illluminated because it never changes (and yes I know about the silver quiver and its stats but I'm pretty sure that is class specific). Anyhow sorry to ramble on but just had a question and felt that if anyone gave me a specific reason as to why a paladin would be running around with one on....

The entire mud runs around with an eyepatch over one eye and you ask about the quiver? Image

What's better is most of those eyepatches _improve_ your ability to hit things?

Just think about the visibility with a mask and an eyepatch on...that is as close to the blindness spell as you can get.

With the eyepatch, earrings, masks, rings, and the fact that many people have tatoos in the descriptions, I've occasionally felt that Sojourn seemed more like a masquerade ball in a biker bar built into a pirate ship than a high fantasy setting Image

Duh...most eyepatches have holes with lenses and crosshairs to help with hitting.

That's why I don't wear eyepatches!

I have spectacles instead of an eyepatch and I still can't hit anything!

Of course I am a caster so that is a moot point.

Grumble, need to find one of those eyepatches with the laser range finder built in.

Quiver is a good spot to pop a lit item.
Also I must agree with sandwiches, if you are fighting an ogre and have to make a rune for it, it is very simple to tear out the bottom of your quiver, that way you leave a trail of sandwiches for the ogre to stop and eat, usually after about 217 it forgets about you.

I thought Ogres ate ittle elves? y else would you have palys to rescue them? A hungry ogre takes a partiallly eaten grey elf from his eelskin quiver. *ack! gross!*

I keep my chopsticks in quiver. Love that teriyaki!
