Why is this? Why do pets do dumb things.. like kick and hitall? I didn't tell him to do that. It is my servant and should not do anything unless told. Could this be looked at plz?

Yeah, that hitall poop gets EVERYBODY in trouble Image Supposedly, as I'm told it is to make the pet not too uber, but damn, uber isn't getting yourself killed *sigh*

To make pets not hitall, assist them. It's been this way a long time and is just fine imo.

They still might do dumb stuff, but I'm pretty sure they won't hitall.

I think the dumb part was istari not fleeing actually. I haven't seen a pit do a hitall in a LONG time, but they often do kicks... which is why the new follower code owns. It tries to rescue when it's lag clears which is awesome.

The hitall is there to prevent you from twinking mobs. The kick is there for a reason as well. Order your pet to start the fight with kick so he/she doesn't initiate with a hitall.

You can get away with not assisting for a bit and you can get away with meming out for a bit but don't do it too long. If you are trying to kill a mob that is difficult for you do so without another mob in the room that would get you killed if the pet hitall.

Pets suck at rescuing in general. They get better at it as you level up but are not intended to be substitutes for warriors at any level.

Also, pets have minds of their own. They are there to help you but are not slaves.

Oh, one more thing, you do have heal spells. Would have been nice to try to heal istari in between ordering your pet to rescue.

Also, glancing the tank while on stone duty is another nice thing to do for the guy getting his ass kicked.

Especially when you see this...

The naval captain sends Istari sprawling with a powerful bash

This means that his stone skin might have been out from the time he started casting that first spell until the time he said stone out.

No offense, but if I was istari I wouldn't care about the spirit not rescuing I would care about no heal or stone.

I've never seen a pet hitall when assisted by it's master. I've seen them do it nearly every time in a room full of mobs when not assisted, given 30 seconds or so. I've actually used their hitall as a lazy way of doing exp while I prayed out. This was mainly with a shaman and was during last wipe. Never saw any of my necro pets hitall...

Often a pet will hitall right after you assist it, since it hasn't registered that you've assisted it.

Never seen that. It didn't take long to figure out the pet rules. Can't remember the last time I had my pet hitall.

Then again I rarely use my spirit now and haven't since I was asked to get it off the docks when I was doin the dockies around level 35. Just not worth the risk. Smoke, ship and tower better exp.

He is right. I charm little people all the time, and everytime they are too busy to do something, I have to order them again. Otherwise they won't do it. HOWEVER, when i order them a second time, they THEN do the last command I told them to do. I have known about this for a WHILE, but i just never said anything cause it doesn't really bug me.
