Not really a bug but when an illusionist with mirror images and doppleganger rents out, the mirror images and doppleganger gives the message that they have been hit, and shatters instead of dissipating. Prolly need new message for when they disappear without getting attacked... no big deal, just text.
Oh, sometimes dopplegangers dont attack for some reason!

I have one.. The majority of Illusionists I've come across seem to have mild to extreme homosexual tendancies. I don't know if it's a bug or if it's coded that way, but it sure is annoying when you're trying to fight and you keep getting goosed and rubbed and things like that by every illusionist that walks by. Maybe could use some looking into.

help illusionist
- makes reference to help skill_invoker
help dimension shift
- spell lasts 10 game hours or 10 rl minutes
who illusionist, who ill
- not working
phantom steed
- Doesn't void when toggled
- Should probly be immaterial, can clog up single file rms
- Yuan-ti's will find this (almost) useless :P
mirror image
- Would be neat if they were immaterial, "bash this!"
- images will wander after toggle, before void hehe

At the risk of getting flamed again...
I'm curious why Grey Elves cannot be Illusionists. Not griping, as I won't play one, just noticed it in the passing and wondered why.

Malacar - French kissin midgets, and damn proud of it. Oh yeah... My comments can offend you now, I don't care anymore. Have a day.

I think it's the same reason as why drow's can not be it either.

Casting: shadow burst *

You complete your spell...
You bathe the area in a blast of shadow energy!
Your shadows consume Silverast utterly, and she collapses in a lifeless heap.
a large raptor is dead! R.I.P.
You receive your share of experience.

Your blood freezes as you hear the rattling death cry of a large raptor.
A merchant is stunned!
A merchant slumps to the ground.

Also, while I know illusionists arent invokers, but the spell damage for nightmare (10th circle single target nuke) seems kinda low......
You complete your spell...
You bring the salesman's worst nightmares into existence to attack him viciously!
The salesman is mortally wounded, and will die soon, if not aided.
Dont know if it was intended that way, or if its too low or not, just commenting !

I definately agree silverast... It seems that 9th circle phantasmal killer is doing almost the same damage. While stun other mobs in the room affect is cool when it happens, it rarely happens. Would would be cool is if it did decreasing damage to all the mobs in the room, like 2nd edition chain lightning does.
e.g. Targeted mob takes 10d5 then in decending order the nect 8 mobs taked 9d5,8d5,7d5 and so on...
Dice is way off, I have no idea what the dice for this spell is :P

Yuan-Ti ills cant ride their own phantom steeds...
Let 'em make horses with tail-holes in the middle or carrier-ogres or something. Who cares what, it's not real anyway.
Blackthorns does less damage than shadow bolt, which seems wrong. Not to mention the abysmal damage from spook... Seems truly useless.
(This at 16th lvl.)
Oh, and shadow bolt should be an illusion spell, considering the ansi and desc... If it's invocation, call it magic missile. :P
Lesse... Make invis and maybe faerie fire illusion spells. And illusion spells show up as "Cold Spells:" on my prac screen.
That's it for now.

Good point. I will have the code make an exception for phantom steeds.

Blackthorns should do less damage than magic missile once you get the full amount of missiles, yes - which happens at level 15, wheras you get blackthorns at level 6. IT is supposed to be this way, and is the same with the other mage circles.
As for Spook, you're right - it's damage is incorrect, I will fix it.

It is an evocation/invocation spell in that it summons something from the Demiplane of Shadows to use as a weapon. The higher level illusionist spells that deal with phantasms and the like are illusion however. Other than the realistic (heh) explanation for it being invocation, I felt it would make for a more balanced class if their damage spell types were mixed between illusion and invocation - that way, their spec bonus will not turn them into an uber-damage dealer, which they are not intended to be. I see illusionists as a good middle ground between Enchanters and Invokers as far as firepower and utility go.

Invis and faerie will both be type illusion soon, and I'll fix that prac title as well.

no message for one form of shadow magic, dunno what spell it was because there was no message ^_^
no message for true sight.
err... actually saw a message for true sight once, it just didn't show a message before that.
would really like to see true sight moved to 3rd circle where all i have mem'd is phantom armor as change self isn't in and locate... well don't need that most of the time.

Yes that's true but I'm playing this from the perspective of the evil race ^_^
everyone already has infravision. If you don't count infravision the spell only give 2 useful spells that can be found at level 1 for most classes, detect magic and detect invisibility. Detect good/evil is only useful for paladins as far as I can recall. Thus moving it to third circle as a yuanti illusionist isn't asking for that much. However as a human illusionists that might be a different story.

I ask because, in theory, casting it on anyone but a hitter is essentially useless. Dopplegangers attempt a hit when the original attempts a hit...ie, if a ranger attacks three times in a round, the doppleganger will attempt three hits as well.

Now here's an odd curiosity... do procs work for the doppleganger? What happens if the oblivion dagger procs?

Dopplegangers do not have EQ, and hence can't proc. They have the same hit/dam of the original, minus the weapon damage dice... they get bare-handed damage dice.
They do work fairly well, when the mud dosent crash because of them :P. So I havent been able to really cast them for 2 days or so.. *sigh*

blurb: doppleganger causes crash when the mob hits pretty hurt/awful?
Not sure if this helps but it appears that the doppleganger seems to cause a crash when the mob being fought hits pretty hurt/awful. Have tested this a couple of times against the drow archer in dk and also against the ancient brownie.
