You group-say 'Is it bashable?'
You group-say \'Is it bashable?\'
Okay, this has been a problem here for a very long time. You look at a mob, it tells you an indepth description of the mob and everything about it down to the eye color, but it doesn't tell you if its BASHABLE!
You can go a room away if its in the dark and look in with infra, and it will tell you the size of the mob, but you can't figure it out standing right in front of the mob in broad daylight? This is just silly. You should be able to tell by looking at a mob if it is Corporeal or wraithform, and if it is bashable or not.
I'm interested why this has never been implemented, or if there is a reason it hasn't, i'd be interested in that as well. Maybe you just like watching me bounce off and get stunned?

And should it state his level too so mages can know if they can perma pwb it?
Maybe list specail procs on it as well so noone is thrown off guard?
BTW there's a neat little bug that should let you bash almost anything, but the consequences are probably not worth it

Mages at least get a rough idea of what level a mob is by using consider.
How large is a very larg warg? You have no way to tell unless you have infra up and its dark.
I think what thanuk is saying is it would be nice if there were a command like consider that would tell you how big a mob is relative to you. Perhapse making it part of consider.
>con warg
You could do it with a needle.
A Very large warg is small.
>con giant
It seems to be no match for you
A Pale skined giant warror is HUGE.
ect.

Um, I kinda agree with Thanuk. I walked into a room this morning, saw a priestess, attempted to bash, and it was to big :P
Looking at the name/description should at least give me some clue as to whether or not I can bash said mob.

Bah, you know i dont mean it should say "It's bashable!" in the descrip But it should tell you at least the size of the being. If i can figure it out with infra in the dark from a room away, i should be able to judge the size of a mob while standing in the same room. Obviously some mobs will still not be bashable even though they fit into the size category for some reason, but in general you should be able to judge the size the mob, and therefore, his bashability.
As for the bug that allows you to bash almost anything, using it as an unfair advantage would be bug abuse, and inherantly wrong.
In conclusion: Delete Azuth for bug abuse!
Oh yeah and let us judge mob size too.

I can imagine some mobs looking insubstantial, but not all. If ghosts were all see-through, people wouldn't meet up with strangers on dark roads and not suspect it was a ghost until after the fact, etc. I saw one, she looked rather solid (although a very strange shade of glowing blue). Maybe some would be obviously wraithform, but not all.
I do like the idea of being able to tell if something looks big, or looks more like you could trip over it...

how about a message on each slash saying how you cut through the mob? i'll know if my sword cuts through a ghost right? then i will know if i can cut straight through something i probably can't bash it.
i don't see anything wrong w/ having a flag saying how big a mob is when u look at it. imho it should be next to the mob's name just like (Water) or (No Ground)
A magnificent white warhorse stands quietly here. (HUGE).
