Forgotten Realms Junkies Look Here

Postby thanuk » Tue Sep 02, 2003 8:52 pm

Hey folks,

I'm looking for information. In particular about ten towns, in particular about 2 of the 10 towns; Caer-Dirival and Caer-Konig. I know Caer-Konig popped up in a few of the Drizzt books, but it's been a few years. Im looking for any kind of info you might have, maps, names of the leaders, people who live there, anything and everything you could possibly know about FR relating to these two towns. Im asking for uhm...no particular reason and stuff. Just let me know by either replying here or emailing me at mrcollins21@yahoo.com if you're embarrassed about your superior FR geekiness. Alright, good talk i'll see you out there.

Nod definately some info in the Drizzt books. They actually talk about the leaders of each at the council meetings, etc. One of the early trilogy books, when the barbarians were invading. Maybe even the first book.

Phear my nerddom.

Thanuk, a lot of the Ten Towns stuff isn't written in the help manuals. Most of the information you get about Ten Towns is in the Icewind Dale trilogy.

My favorite link for building in the FR world is:

You might try "The North" and "Volo's Guide to the North."

Volo's Guide to the North has about 3 pages on Ten Towns. The two cities you mentioned get about one paragraph in that.

Just politics, but I see it as a fair trade...I'll get you what you need to know, you do my paper? it's only 10 pages so you should be fine.

FRCS 3e has nothing about Ten Towns. However, it does point out an interesting fact about Griffon's Nest. ..."Unlike other Uthgardt tribes, the Griffon tribe welcomes contact with outsiders, particularly adventurers who can teach them tricks to use against civilized fighters."

Interesting... Was worth a shot. :)

I have maps of the towns somewhere, I think.

I was one of the few that actually got the Forgotten Realms Atlas.. both paperback and electronic.

I'll see if either has a map for you, too.
