Glaive Blind

Postby rylan » Wed Dec 24, 2003 9:01 pm

Can somebody take a look at the blind proc on the Glaive from seelie? Looks like it has that same 'delayed effect' problem that other spell effects had.
Here is a quick snippet of a mob switchinog after being blinded:

< 397h/397H 279p/294P 116v/116V T: Aristan TC: few wounds E: cyclops EC: awful P: std >
A cyclops warrior is blinded by a bright flash along the blade of your silver glaive!
You pierce a cyclops warrior hard.
A cyclops warrior attacks Aristan, landing a single hit.
A cyclops warrior switches targets..
Aristan attacks a cyclops warrior, landing two hits.

Don't all, or nearly all, spells take effect the following round?

Seems that way to me.

They've fixed quite a few of them, particularly silence and some forms of para and stone/scales and other effects so they happen that instant. Seems that there is a chunk of code subroutine or something that gets referenced commonly with spell effects, and then there is the 'tweaked' one that takes effect instantly.

Dunno if this is the same issue, but i just put on a WB item, then moved south and got the msg, you would surely drown, then i moved south again and could do it fine. (there was around 5 sec from i wore wb item to the you would surely drown msg)

Maybe something is funky with that mob, cuz I thought PWB was fixed so it takes effect instantly?

Sequester does this too. You can be summoned shortly after you get it. Might be a linger from mob started casting, you got seq, it finished, but it does happen. HAve seen it 2x in last 24 hours.

8)

You'd think a cyclops would be easier to blind.

Been seeing this a lot lately where the mob would switch immediately after the glaive blind proc landed. Here are a couple more log snippets of it:

You barely pierce a guardian treant.
A guardian treant is blinded by a bright flash along the blade of your silver glaive!
You barely pierce a guardian treant.
A guardian treant switches targets..
You stagger from a fearsome smash from a guardian treant!
OUCH! That really did HURT!
A guardian treant smashes you extremely hard.
OUCH! That really did HURT!
-----------------------------
A forest giant is blinded by a bright flash along the blade of your silver glaive!
You barely pierce a forest giant.
You barely pierce a forest giant.
Your attack only grazes a forest giant as it dodges aside!
You barely pierce a forest giant.
A forest giant attacks the shadow of a huge buffalo, landing a single hit.
A forest giant switches targets..
The spectre of a wood-elf scout attacks a forest giant, landing a single hit.

Also change this to something that isn't a glaive, I find it hard to believe someone can dual-wield polearms.
