New use for mount skill.

Postby Delmair Aamoren » Wed Apr 07, 2004 9:06 pm

Not to be confused with mounted combat skill. As it stands now there
seems to be little or no benefit of the mount skill. i suggest that there
be a new ability granted to a mounted combatant if their mount skill
is sufficent. i suggest they be able to make an attempt to re-mount
their mount while in combat. success would be dependent on agility
and skill level.

Just a thought, because when i get dismounted i get PWNED.
And as it stands, the mount skill is near worthless.

Damn, and I thought this was a thread about halflings.

i've discussed this with some god and he said that the reason that is is because mounted combat > than shield block. but what's not taken into account is that when we are mounted we can't get embodied.

Blah, no kidding. no embody = weak. shieldblock = so much superior like they get 15+ ac + stats from shield + shieldpunch. bleh. i think that reasoning sucks. gimme mount during combat! bitches! =P

Disclaimer: yes i was drunk during this post. but it seems like a good idea even when i'm sober. so says me!

Mount permits one, at the higher skill levels, to stay mounted whilst riding indoors.

As for shieldblock versus mounted combat, mounted combat is significantly superior to shieldblock. I won't go into details, but there are some definite advantages of mounted combat.

I'll discuss the idea of permitting mounting in combat with Shevarash and let you know our decision.

I think it'd be a good idea if mount skill is what was checked when you try to pick stuff up off the ground while mounted. I'm next to sure it checks off mounted combat, which really doesn't make much sense whenever you're not fighting. Just a thought.

Actually it's one of the reason I, as a ranger, never bothered practicing mounted combat. Every time I tried I'd fumble a sword, then have to dismount in order to get it back...
