Yartha you have my total and complete respect. I'd give anything for your line of "work". My mom is a stay at home mother with 5 little ones (ages between 11 and 1) so I know how hard it can be.

At the moment I don't do much more than sit around the house and play video games. Let me tell you.. if there was a place that would give me a nickel for every hour I play Dark Cloud, I'd have a shitload of nickels. (It's a cheesy little game, but damn it's addicting.)

Someday I hope to go to school and become a teacher for autistic kids. Somehow with all my piercings/tattoos I don't see that happening though so I'll probably end up doing what I've always done which is call-center work. I've worked for some big companies like Cingular Wireless, Geico, Lillian Vernon, Plow & Hearth and Ticketmaster so I don't have any trouble getting a job in that line of work.
Just what I need.. to sit in front of a computer at work all day then come home and do it more.

Can you say Carpal Tunnel?

Software Engineer, do coding for embedded devices for industrial applications, various, windows ce, palm os, Epoc 16/32 driven devices, mainly specializing in wireless communications(wan(cdpd)/lan(802.11b) and barcode tracking systems and gps logistics app's.

Sounds boring and is most of time but keeps my human interaction to a minimum and allows me to look as wierd as i want to.

Nokie,

There are no jobs now!

If their were, depending on what you could do, and what development tools you were proficient in (ie: mobilebuilder, codewarrior, etc) i would say for straight database apps with serial file transfers you could earn 30-35$ on a contract hour, and 40+ for wireless comms work especially if you have to concern yourself with security. I am from the midwest so these are rates for a low cost of living area, anywhere costal salaries tend to inflate with the local economy as im sure you know.

That being said, palm os is a dying beast, get into windows ce if you are considering embedded development. Palm is an awesome OS, so quick and stable for what it supports, its a 16 bit OS however and its really neared its peak, windows ce is still infantile by comparison but it's potential is incredible and will slowly take over the marketshare especially in industrial environments.

I'm a High School math and computer science teacher. I teach AP Calc, Algebra II, pre-Calc, Intro CS, and Yearbook. I've taught AP European History and Cisco Academy classes in the past as well. I'm also chairman of the department and on too damn many committees. In my copious spare time, I'm father to 2 toddler daughters, homeowner, husband, graduate student in CS (working part time on Master's degree), and player, coder, area-builder for Sojourn3. I'm not sure how I find time for all that, and many times I don't. Despite my full load, I hope to have a new zone ready for you all in the next couple months. =)

I'm a 9th grade High School Student. Fun, fun..

Dreading, er...looking forward to...at least 7 more years of school, more depending on what kind of degree I get in college?

Sigh...they say real life is worse than school, so I'll enjoy it for now... :P

Damnit, we're all getting old. This kind of question used to be answered like Student, Student, Pre-pubescent student...Now it's all work, wife, and wittle ones.

Rausrh is a Software Engineer. I make client server apps that poke databases and generate reports and lists. We charge hospitals money to store their information in our databases, then sell it back to them in neat little targeted marketing lists.

Have anybody you need to stalk? I got their address, phone(cell, home, pager, work, fax), email, place of work.

Every man should wear a kilt, and all the women know that only the REALLY manly men have what it takes to walk around outside in one.

Ashiwi hands a kilt to Prospective Snugglemuffin.
Ashiwi says, "Wear this, we're going to the store."
Prospective Snugglemuffin says, "No way in hell!"
Ashiwi shouts, "Next!"

Hehe, I would, but I live in Ct now. My kinda-sorta g/f still lives out there tho, I'll let her know.
Is the age out there 18 or 21 for a tattoo? I've heard conflicting reports from different places...
But I was thinking of the Jade Dragon because everyone's been telling me it's "one of the best in the world" <shrug>
I'd rather take the time to explain someone exactly what I'd like tho, and have it done right.
Altho, I am going out there in July, I could finally get my dragon colored in <g>

LOL, I live in Providence, RI. This entire state is smaller than the county I used to live in in SC. I live 2 minutes from mass on the east side of RI, and I drive 30 minutes to CT to go to work every day. Now that's small.

LOL, yeah, everything is so damn small up here. 5 hrs would get you to almost Canada on the north side of Maine. We're like 3 hours from new york city? I work on Lake road, right up from the new power plant off of exit 94. General Cable, ugly as hell bright baby blue building. You might have seen it, lol. Everyone asks me "how can you drive so far to work every day?!?" 30-40 minutes only seems long when that's all it take to cross an entire state people!

When I lived in Florida, people thought it was a "long drive" crossing town to go to the roller rink... It was like, 15 minutes w/traffic.
And here I am, it takes me 30-45 minutes just to get to my friends house Image
Well, that's only in the winter, when I actually drive the speed limit <whistle>
