June or July for Fen and I.

August is Dragoncon in Atlanta, and kids starting school. May kids are still in school.

Exactly what Lilira said. June is best for us.

I went with September since the weather should be cooling off by then, and unless there'll be another pool, summer gatherings are a sweatfest.

Depending on my financial circumstances at the time, I might be able to come this year. If anyone else on the east coast wanted to road trip it, I would love to do that and see some new parts of the country rather than fly. I'll be on terminal leave from June until August 1st (I'm giving myself the best birthday present ever... no more Navy).

Its too bad there really aren't that many of us on the west coast.

There's more of us on the west coast than the east coast, if you take all the Vancouver mudders into consideration. Them, combined with those of us here in WA, and the throng of mudders from Oregon and Cali, we'd have a pretty formidable gathering.

I don't honestly think there are more people on either coast, especially not ones that would actually go to Indiana :)

Personally, I'm shooting for my own "5-state get together" next year and opting out of the 11 hour drive.

Maybe have a run-off between the July and Sept dates? It seems like a lot of people are interested in a summertime gathering again.

I still laugh that every year the planning starts, somebody complains about it being in Indiana on a certain date that they can't make it, no matter how good of a reason it may be (Lilira and Fen for example, that's understandable), but to this day I have not yet seen anyone else host one other than to tell people to show up at their house for a beer one day and that I put too much thought into gatherings, or somebody saying I should host it in a completely different state. I laughed that after the Feb. 2005 gathering, half the mud jumped to say that they'd host it in 2006 in random parts of the country and nobody did and the ones who could came to my gathering anyway. That makes me smile in the end :P

I'll be living in Kentucky when it comes around this time... about a 3-5 hour drive if I map quested it correctly. That's still no guarantee, though its a helluva lot closer than I've been to showing up before.
