The Dumber They Are, The Harder They Fall

Postby Lorendel Ebonmist » Sun Apr 20, 2008 1:55 pm

< P: std > l d
The Chamber of Grand Conjuration
This circular chamber is massive, with high ceilings and almost one hundred
foot diameter. All over the walls there are runes and symbols of a magical
nature. The most notable feature of the room is the huge five pointed star
painted in red on the floor. There are five blue candles and a circle about
two feet in diameter at each of the pinnacles of the star. To the north of the
summoning star is a hole in the ground leading to the shaft that drops down the
centre of the spire. Immediately east of the hole is a stone staircase leading
up.
Room size: Mid-sized (L:25 ft W:25 ft H:10 ft)
Exits: - Up - Down
A cleric stands here tracing the souls path.
A sorcerer lends his strength to the circle.
A monstrous Nalfeshnee Tanar'ri rages against his bondage.
A six armed spellweaver contributes to the binding.
The weary portalmaester gathers his magical threads.
The grand conjurer stands here, attempting control.

In the Vertical Spire Shaft (No Ground)
Inside the vertical shaft of the spire the walls look like they were once
flowing. They are smooth in the vertical plane, but rippled around the
shaft. It seems as though this shaft was the centre of some vertical blast
that was probably the force behind its creation. The heat of that blast has
left rock with a polished glassy texture, and a dark obsidian color. The shaft
is about six feet in diameter. The atmosphere here is cool and pleasant.

This is a six foot diamater vertical shaft. Far above the shaft continues
to rise into the darkness. The air here is clean and cool and circulates
around despite the lack of obvious exits or openings. The walls of the
shaft are smooth in the vertical plane but rippled horizontally, as though
the walls had once run up or down as liquid rock. The floor here is slightly
different to the the stone of other places in the spire. It looks like it
was a recent addition and has a rough texture.

You fall in a heap, and your soul exits your body.
With a final blow, you feel yourself falling to the ground.
Your soul leaves your body in the cold sleep of death...
The world starts spinning, and your ears are ringing!

I thought this was going to be a log of Cofen falling somewhere.
It will be fixed in Toril 2.0.
