Sojourners,
Toril has recently implemented a new issue tracking system using the open-source web application named Trac. Trac has many features which we will be using internally to help with project management, but from the player's persepctive, Toril-Trac is the new tool to alert the staff to issues that need attention. These issues would include: bugs, typos, administration issues, forum problems, etc. I think it's a pretty straightforward system and interface, so I'm not going to go into too much detail here. The front page of Toril-Trac has some instructions and a link to the documentation, and I will be happy to answer questions via email or this thread. For now, in a nutshell, here's how it works:
- Find issue
- Go to Toril-Trac and open a ticket
- Staff member review tickets, accept valid ones and reject invalid tickets
- Staff members resolve tickets they have accepted
Please note that once you enter a ticket it can no longer viewed by you, although you may specify your email address to receive an automatic update on status changes of the ticket. You may choose to enter tickets anonymously or with your email address. In either case, please note your player name in the comments unless you wish to be anonymous, and provide as much information as possible in the ticket description. There are various fields around "component", "priority", "type" that I hope are self-explanatory, but if not feel free to ask here.
Please note that Toril-Trac is for issues that need staff attention. If you have an idea you'd like to discuss, or an issue you're not sure about, continue using the forums. Also note that Toril-Trac will replace the "bug" command on the MUD itself.
To get to Toril-Trac, either use the link above or click the forum link under "Gameplay Discussion." Thanks for your cooperation, and here's to hoping this new tool will increase our efficiency at resolving your issues.
