Don't make him repop or you will ruin my fun every boot, thanks.

Upon the River Mir (Water)
The enormous redwoods of the Forest of Mir stretch high into the sky on
either side of this wide, rapidly running river. The Mir River cuts
directly through the heart of the forest, flowing from the north to
culminate in an underground waterfall somewhere to the south of here.
Forest animals lurk along the edges of the river, stopping to drink from the
river's waters, or darting in to grab one of the many swarming fish within
the depths. The river continues to the north and south, and dry land is
east and west from here, into the forest.

QUEST ABUSE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED NOR TOLERATED.
It's pretty sad we have to add this, but some people are greedy
and mean. Anyone caught doing the following will be punished:
1. hoarding items needed for quests for no acceptable reason
(If you grab items needed to do a quest, you'd better do
the quest as soon as you are able.)
2. selling items needed only for quests that have no real eq value
3. stealing items needed for quests from mobs with the intention
of selling or giving them away
4. "twinking" quests by gathering up needed items and "hiding"
or renting with them
5. "twinking" any quest related mob or item to prevent people
from completing a part of or a full quest. This includes
killing the mob while people are in the zone trying to do
the quest.
6. preventing a quest load by sitting on the MUD with a quest
item that you are not actively using. If you cannot use
the item, RENT IT.

First of all, which part of those rules applies?

Second of all, how are you going to enforce it when people quest that first step for humorous spite all the time?

Third of all, wouldnt it be easier and cleaner to just make the first step not disappear the quest mob? Then people wont have the ability to c-block other questers.

First of all...
1. hoarding items needed for quests for no acceptable reason
(If you grab items needed to do a quest, you'd better do

And not directly but...
4. "twinking" quests by gathering up needed items and "hiding"
or renting with them

Second of all...
I'm not anyones father here so I don't feel a need to stop people from acting like douches.

Third of all...
See second of all.

Edit:
I really don't see why the gods have to police you people as if you were two year olds. The whole "I can screw people over and therefore I will" mentality is weak at best. Rimi will not change to not disappear and you can blame me all you want or you can blame the jackasses who are ruining the game.

Oh. You see, I thought that your post, that sternly quotes the rules at the previous poster, had implied that people need to be policing the first step of the Rimi quest (like a father)... in order to stop people from acting like douches.

Just trying to say that I think a small adjustment to the first step could prevent the conflict from coming up.

Sorry I came of super snotty at first. Seriously though, it IS an issue. And btw come on, Mux was joking Im sure (probably)

My post was not stern but a mere statement of fact. Copy and paste from rules. The post was not meant for people to police them but to inform people that when they do that they are breaking the rules and technically could face some sort of consequences if admins wanted to deal with it.

spunionring wrote:Just trying to say that I think a small adjustment to the first step could prevent the conflict from coming up.

Possibly, but I don't see a need to do work because people are jackasses.

spunionring wrote:Sorry I came of super snotty at first. Seriously though, it IS an issue. And btw come on, Mux was joking Im sure (probably)

Not to sound uninterested but weather or not Mux was joking or not is really none of my concern. It seems like the concern of Admins and people who are working on the quest (if he is actually doing that) and if he's not then it's no one's concern and this isn't an issue.

Basically the way I see this is:
Option a) People are complaining about this but not really doing this. In this case this is not an issue.

Obtion b) People are doing this and ruining the quest for others by being jackasses and breaking the rules. In this case this is not MY issue as I am not an admin and don't need to deal with it, nor am I their relative so their douchebaggery isn't my concern.

Either way you look at it quest doesn't need to be changed from my perspective.

Option C) The first step is being excessively quested without maliciousness due to the ease and commonness of the item in question, and knocking rimi out of game as often as he actually loads.

Option C has holes in the logic.

a) Rimi loads every boot.
b) why shouldn't people be able to start a quest and get interested in it?
c) with as low as the pbase is do you really think that Rimi is being quested EVERY boot with the same step?
d) would people be happier if the first item of a quest was ridiculously hard to get so that no one could start it except the top 3-4 players in the game?

Talking to the quest mob should constitute beginning the quest. If the mob weren't poofed, then more people could talk to it.

Am i mistaken, or isnt this quest written for the most leet players only to be able to finish?

As for the rest of your assertions, I have my doubts that it loads every boot, and yes i believe it gets quested every time it loads. But really, we would have to hear the truth on this from gods directly.

bullshit

if you want to get technical yes he loads every boot... but since it has a distro it can land anywhere.. including in zones which are not connected to the mud anymore so truth is he does not load every boot.

Pril wrote:d) would people be happier if the first item of a quest was ridiculously hard to get so that no one could start it except the top 3-4 players in the game?

nah, thats what step uhh 12 is for.

i already talked to you about this and you blew me off that time, but i'll say it again: the only fix needed here is making him not dissapear from the game after the first item gets quested, instead just load another rimi in distro room and poof that one. i doubt anybody would willingly sacrifice the second item needed just to screw people over.

nobody here is against 99% of the mud being involved with questing it...
oh and adding 2 lines to a quest file does not equal more work ffs

To my knowledge, there are only one or two zones that are not connected to the mud. Those zones aren't on the distro, so Rimi doesn't load there. But nice try.

by not connected i meant inaccessible zones also, like bloodstone, and since fierrosa _still_ loads there its easy to assume that rimi does as well.

Being 1 of the 2 people that has completed the quest. I put in my 2 cents.

Reverse step 1 with step 2, and dont change anything else.

People wont just keep tossing step 2 items to poof him. I dont think people are doing that anyways but still no ones is going to if you reverse the steps.

Thanks for putting in the work to give us something high end to work for... i have enjoyed using it.
