Shevarash, what about skill practices?

Postby Dalar » Fri Dec 04, 2009 8:44 pm

Shev,

Skill practicing is horrible. Please roll a squid and try to level all of its skills to understand what I am talking about.

I would suggest increasing the chance to get a skill prac up across the board. One of the main complaints about leveling in this MUD is skill practice.

It's not that bad Dart. I maxed all the important psi skills without any major issue. Plus, taking time to practice skills HELPS to separate the guy who bothers to do it and improve, from the noob who doesn't.

Dunno... I kinda like the extra effort.

I'd suggest increasing the cap on how high you can prac a skill at your guildmaster to maybe 80% of max. Plat sinks are good thing, standing around spamming sneak/hide/disg every 21 seconds or days at a time is not.

I still don't like the fact that you spend half of the time of your character's development time to 50 just trying to level up skills. Another option would be to use excess lvl 50 exp to "purchase" skill points.

Get rid of skill levels. Just have skills at a level based on your character level.

But..that'd be 100% logical. We can't have that. Too many fools whine when we are logical. All leveling does is give a person hitpoints and allows some procs to work on select weapons and such. Why leveling doesn't automatically reflect the respective attributes and skills that accompany makes no sense. That aspect of the game is yet another unexplained time-sTink.

some psi skills in particular can be a real pain to notch cus they last like half a real life hour... or almost a whole hour in the case of body control.

reduction/expansion are particularly annoying for this reason but there is no more point in notching them with new size changes
