This is actually an interesting turn of events.
The reverse was true for the GWB administration. Here the one US citizen that guantanamo had was quickly released because it was inhumane to have an american imprissoned there.
On the other hand; Danish, germen, canadian etc. citizens were not released from guantanamo for a long time.

Cite your source please. I can't find anything that says this guy was held in Guantanamo.

I think Diso is referring to Yaser Hamdi, the American citizen who was detained at Guantanamo after capture in Afghanistan, not the guy in the OP article.

Yep. He was only moved to a us prison. But that was done because of his US citizenship.
The dane was Slimane Hadj Abderrahmane if anyone cares. But there where many nationalities. And no other nationality was treated special.
I was just making a comparison to the GWB era where the fact of beeing a US citizen alone gave a privilegue.
