MOB SIZE ISSUES

Postby Shevarash » Tue Nov 10, 2009 5:53 am

Please post any mobs you see that appear to have incorrect sizes in this thread. Please provide as much detail as possible - the exact name of the mob in addition to the zone you found them in would be ideal. Thanks in advance for your help!

pulled from the game update thread

Wrong size: An orc battlechanter, world load, showed up as size (None)

Wrong size: A huge tundra yeti, on Ten Towns trail, showed up as (Medium)

Wrong size: The ground hog, north of BG, showed up as (Medium)

Wrong size: An ENORMOUS cave worm, in CM, showed up as (Medium)

Wrong size?: earth elementals are now size (Medium) where previously they were able to bash some large mobs like demons.

Wrong size?: Demons are now size (Medium) as well? Lili said they are anyway and I don't know where to look to check.

Thanks guys. One thing though - can you please try to include the zone when it's a more generic sounding mob? Thanks!

Suggestion: rename thread to 'mob race issues' or 'race code issues' or 'mob issues' since a lot more looks different than just size

Manscorpions are size (large) and bashable now when they weren't before. plz see suggestion in other feedback thread for density change. could also be just morphology like their body isn't made for that type of attack to work.

Manscorpions are large sized ("SIZE: L (6' tall, 4' long plus 10' tail) " -2nd Edition Monster Manual) and were bashable before changes.

Weather or not they should be bashable, I don't know and I am not real concerned about it.

Ghore boas and pythons in Alligator area:

A huge boa constrictor slowly slithers along.

This boa constictor is huge, 30 feet long and several feet in circumfrence.
A huge boa constrictor is in excellent condition. (Small)

A huge python is here, trying to hide.

This is a huge python, must be 20 feet in length. It looks as if it could take
on even the largest troll.

Thank you!

I am finding the reduced range of head-buttable mobs to be a little annoying, even having only examined it vs a relatively small range of mobs and pchar race/mob combos.

Hopefully this is not too pronounced overall, such that it renders the previously quite good headbutt skill much less useful.

Cursed cemetary:

A tiny tree root: Huge
A tiny blackened tree: Huge

Summoned Mount:
a heavy warhorse: (none?)

Sidenote with mounts: does mob size with the new code have any affect on 'charging' mobs, or being 'bashed' while mounted, vs. pure character size? (obviously with a size: none, it probably doesn't currently... but should it?)

Any chance we could address mount size issues? as it stands my lard human ass seems to be impacting the carrying capacity of my mount. Gets tired faster than a pack a day smoker with COPD. For an example, it gets tired walking from VT to the BG ferry.

Additionally, they're subject to trip currently, something that they weren't susceptable to before the size changes.

Lastly, can we look at their resistances vs area spells/breath weapons? i spend a pretty significant amount of time in a zone healing up my 2k hp horse. Either that or making heal mount the equivalent of 2-3x fheals. Thanks.

Magma plane is all sorts of bashable nonsense. Earth elementals should be bumped up so they can bash demons and such again while water elementals stay sized to bash humanoids. Embodiments and cleric spells no longer affect size.

When I look at Gormal it says "Huge bulge in pants"

but size is small.
It will be fixed in Toril 2.0.
