Need an opinion
Need an opinion
As a good deal of you know, I organized a Sojourn Player Auction the second week of March. In my opinion, it was a great success and everyone seemed to have a lot of fun. I have been approached by several people who either participated or wanted to participate in it last time and have requested I run it again. I did not want to run it so soon because I did not want the novelty of it to wear out and this is where I need the opinion of my fellow players.
This auction basically works like a slave auction only the "slaves" or people agreeing to be sold to other players have rights. You cannot force someone you buy to do something against their will. Whatever money you bid, goes to the player you are buying. Due to an unseen problem last time, I have changed one rule however. The "slave" only gets paid after he or she has rendered the services the buyer requires. If they refuse for whatever reason, whether its because what you request offends them or because they want to be difficult, the deal is broken, money is not paid, and there is no trouble. Minimum bid is 50 platinum and I would encourage new players to take this opportunity to buy a level 50 player to teach you the game. I will elaborate on the rules if players think I should run this event again. Please post here and let me know. It was great fun for me last time.

The only reason I let slaves buy other slaves last time because the volume of whining was killing me
Most of it coming from dear old Yayaril
I couldn't have run the event without the help of a lot of people, its too much
If people would like me to try this event again, I've got sign up sheets ready requesting helpers and of course, people willing to be sold

i got bought for 2k and was made to do dispicable things at the hands of Ssissiv!
bastard!
It was a great time, i'd be up for getting sold again
I think this time tho that you should hold it in stages instead of doing everybody at once. I also suggest that you keep the actual room you are auctioning in clear except for the ppl bidding on whichever slave is on the block, and make every other person there sit one room out. It will cut the spam and ppl's bids wont get missed like i know some did last time.
You shout: Baikalisan is up for sale. Everybody interested in purchasing this slave please enter the auction room. Those not interested please exit to the commons hall.
me on the block
you auctioneer
and the 4 or 5 ppl (hopefully! rofl) that want to bid on me in the room, when they cant afford it they can leave into commons room with rest of the ppl who are attending.
i think this will make it a much more pleasureable experience for all involved, specially the auctioneer.
