This has probably been suggested, before, but: How about adding a shop command that would identify a shop inventory item? I've gone into shops, any number of times and seen items that were fairly expensive, but, without knowing the stats, I am loath to buy them, having been burned too many times. I'd be more likely to buy something if I knew what it was, and it would make more sense from a 'world' sense that the shopkeeper wanting to make a sale would be willing to give me info on the item. He probably would give me info, free, on items that he normally stocked, and would id the others at cost (less than the magic shop charges: he gets a bulk price for ID scrolls).
Eilorn.

Now, we can do this the hard way, or... well, actually there's just the hard way.
