level 50, abilities.
Only for level 50's.
After lvl 50, experience should be able to be switched to raise resistance's, stats, etc for a small number to let all those high levels something to do to build up their chars.
Ie:
Magic resistant = Raise by 2 magic resistance by each level (up to 3)
Strenght = Raise by 2 your strenght (up to 3)
And some class based abilities like:
Warriors ->
Bash mastery = adds a 2% of chance to stun your opponent when bashing (up to 3)
Rescue mastery = adds a 4% of chance for a succesful rescue(up to 3)
Pet casters ->
Pet mastery = Adds a 5% to the total of your pet's hps (up to 3)
Invokers ->
Improved damage = Adds 3% to the magical damage mitigated (up to 3)
Casters ->
Quickmind = Reduces your memorization time by 5% for each spell (up to 3)
Clerics ->
Heal all = Adds a 2% for any kind of heal to become group heal (up to 2)
Healing matery = Adds 5% of the heal you making (up to 3)
Rogues ->
Assassination mastery -> Adds a 2% for your assassination ability (up to 3)
Double circle = Adds a 2% for each circle be done by both weapons (up t 3)
-----------------------------
And so on, and so on.. Dont think this would unbalance the game since each point would be a full level for a 50th wich would take alot of time and make high levels more unique.

yea rerolling another class isn't a great way to "keep player interest" in the game b/c they just remember how crappy it is to level another char. also prestige points could be used in this manner too .
would be nice to have a specialization at lvl 50 rather than having everyone be a cookie cutter.

hey, i know - we can add potions on uber hard fights that raise your level if you have enough experience beyond lvl 50, maybe go all the way up to level 56! and like, give skills for people that are like, triple attack for warriors! wow!
for the record, i am being stupid because of the concept that they should ever add a new skill to warriors is amusing beyond all words to me.
of course, after i stopped being a conjie - they got upgraded (arguably!!!) to elementalists. now that i am no longer a warrior, it would not shock me to see great new skills come in. go guys, im a chanter now. soap on a rope, cuz im yer bitch!

How about removing the 50 cap altogether? Before you start moaning...I mean it'll show up on who/att or whatever what your level is....57...82 whatever....but you don't get anymore spells/skills or anything like that.
I'm tired...maybe a sucky idea...I don't care!

feh, comment on my idea in the link :P
You could level your eq instead! It would add a whole new epic dimension to the game.

I really like the idea of somthing special, yet small, for level 50 and beyond.
Some of the ideas by Vazz and others about very small increases in certain skill and saves percenatges sounds like very worthy food for thought!
I like minor increases in the better skill(s) of your class idea, especially.
It would need to be not unbalancing, of course.
Perhaps something like a choosable specialization, or minor increase to an attribute of your choice, costing lots of plats or something.

Ythera group-says 'Fotex, what's my ghost doing- giving him a blowjob?'
Tanji group-says 'if so I want the next turn'

I don't like the exp bit of it. You do get something extra at level 50, better skills. AND a title as something special. The idea of spending exp past 50 for more skills, to cal la spade a spade is well, lvl 51 52 53 54 55 56 etc... Even if you don't call it that.
I do like the idea of when you hit lvl 50 something amazing happens. When yo ulog into game next you have the spend level 50 points options with thing like follows.
You have 10 points, you can spend 1 point to-
reduce a save by 1
increase hitroll by 1
You can spend 2 points to-
increase damroll by 1
increase a stat by 1 (max_stat allowed)
You can spend 5 points to-
gain 1% MR
You can spend 10 points to-
eliminate spell failure
eliminate rescue failure
eliminate stutter
elimintate search failure
restring an item
You can spend 11 points to-
become a fire giant
become a myconid

I'm 50th level.
All useful skills are maxed.
Apparently, I'm as good as I'll ever be, which is depressing (cause I suck.)
I am all in favor of most of the abovestated ideas, and I strongly encourage some... SOME thought about increasing natural skills/hitpoints/saves by tiny amounts in return for ridiculous amounts of work. I would love it if I could get a hit point for level 51. I would LOVE it if I could get a -1 save to any save slot at level 52. It would give me a sense that there was something else to self improvement besides the eq I wear. If I could drop another second of mem time from each spell at level 55, I would actually exp for it. (Don't scoff, I have no life.)
Sorry for being long winded, but this idea has merit.
Peace.
