I'm using 5.55. Couldn't stand the more recent upgrades (6.15+) so I'm staying here.

the freebie one...3.6 or something. I tried the 6.16 and hate it so much. Sigh. I wish it was more user friendly, cuz id love to be able to map. it just caused too many problems for me. No auto-roller for me Image

4.62

best version that you don't have to reinstall after 30 days as I will not purchase it :P

I have been evaluating it for 175 days now :P

6.16

Once you get used to it's quirks (like setting up multiple chars on one mud), it's way more powerful than 4.62, which was the last version I used before 6.16

I had the freebie for several years...but felt I owed the guy his due (come on most of us spend more time on his app then we do with most loved ones Image, paid and upgraded.
6.16 works just fine, and supposedly Zuggs working on a plugin that will make mapping far easier and bug free.

I'm still using that old 3.62 version. Where can I get the 4.62? I can't find it on www.zuggsoft.com or any of the mirrors... I might even consider getting 5.55, if there's a trial version

thanks gindipple!

got a question about the automapper: if you've got a room that you can access from two different directions, but the access paths are of different lengths, how do you link them properly?

i.e. * is a room and - is path

Easiets way to do this is just to stand in the south room and map north.
Now drag the new room onto the north room and merge the two.

I find this is easier then fiddeling with links.

PS

I like 6.16, Yes its not perfect but its powerful. It works just like earlier ones but you need to tweak more to get it work the way you like.

The way i handle it is click on the edit button and add the lines(-) then got to the links tab and hook them to each other.

Has anyone actually had 6.16 record the room names properly? I'm getting Exit names as room names -- "follows" work fine but "finds" are horrible!

4.62, since it's free, easy, and I know how to keep the eval period extremely low.

Anyone else who wants to know how should email me. Fenrirwolf@xmail.com

Automapping with 6.16 works fine for me on Sojourn, just needed to advance configure it right and off you go..(oh and add a few NODIR triggers).

I'm using 6.16. Mainly because I like the EQ Database. I haven't had any real problems with it as of yet.

And Xyd, My mapper is working fine.

Woo hoo! Got the mapper (mostly) working and it's sweet. Gotta love the room scripts.

Thanks for the emails from those who already went thru this pain. The more I use 6.16 the more I'm liking it...

I was using 4.62 but it keeps crashing on me so I'm using 6.16. I love the mapping and am having only one problem so far. I can't figure out how to put notes for the individual rooms when mapping like 4.62 allows. Can anyone help with this?

Highlight the room, then hit properties, then I just add stuff below the description (i.e what a shop sells, mobs of note, quest hints, ect).

Also, that window has more "stuff" in it!! Move your cursor to the bottom of the Description area (of the room properties window) and you'll see the cursor change. Drag that dividup up and you have more room options including a Notes field and a script field for commands. I use the script field for things like "#SA SEARCH FOR KEY HERE" which tosses a nice reminder up on the screen.

Also, the Exits tab is really powerful if you can figure it out. I'm prolly just dense, but it took me a while to get the knack of editing exits (try mapping Finn to Anna's Cottage and you'll get the idea. *grin*).

Thanks Xyd. That's exactly what I was looking for. I like using the notes section cause it's searchable. Now I got it down.

Ver. 4.43a

and...

"You have been evaluating zMUD for -19855 Day"

Thats right, that is a negative sign in front of those numbers. Gee I love time stamped registration checks don't you? Funny thing about them: they seem dependant on YOUR system clock...

5.55

The version I have is a 30 day eval copy. But it is buggy and once it hits 29 days, it resets to 30. So it never goes below 29 days.
If anyone needs a copy, email me. I'll be glad to send it out.

6.16 here, it's still a little buggy on my machine but otherwise darn good. Image

And for you people prattling on about not paying, go register! It's cheap and you use it a heck a lot more than the silly game you went out and happily dropped $50 on.

*snickers & ponders how easy Zugg would have it tracking down people considering our IP's are logged*

I've got 4.62 and 6.16 both registered thank you. I had a lil trouble with triggers for 6.16 at first but I've got a better idea of what i"m doin now Image
I personally think 6.16 is great. I just wish I could get my laptop to accept it Image but unfortunately it keeps belchin it back at me Image
