No damage Combat bug?

I noticed that sometimes at the beginning of a battle, the mob wont take damage, even though it's been hit. For example:

Now I know us elven weenies are weaker than a cockatoo on Prozac, but come on..

It looks to me like it drained your hp, sorta like vamping off of you. So right here:

A moaning spirit drains you hard.
You barely slash a moaning spirit.
You barely slash a moaning spirit.

It drained you once, which did more damage then your two slashes combined.

That mobs "attackmessage" is always drain.

What if it's "attack message" is actually a REAL drain?

The mob drained before Dizzin got his swings, so unless it vamps the mob up over its max hit points high enough to take 2 slashes and stay excellent, it's not draining.

And if that IS the case, how does Dizzin EVER do any damage to it?

I think something's fishy.

Regarding a real drain by that mob: I seriously dont think it drains hp as an attack. I've killed quite a few of them, and I've never noticed it healing enough to stay excellent after 3 hits on it. Add to this that I've seen this occur, though very rarely, with different mobs, and I still think, as the dead ranger said, "something's fishy."
