lev and !ground

lev and !ground

Why is it you can enter a !ground room with lev, but can't leave it? (you need fly)

Any chance lev could be like a ghetto-fly? It's VERY annoying that I can gate my groups to smoke plane for example and all be floating in the air, yet we can't move around without fly up there.....

Maybe like, you walk like normal using mv per room instead of the 1 mv per room like fly, the weight load still factors in, but we can move in !ground rooms with it? Pretty Please? Image

Does that make sense? Levitate keeps you hovering a short distance above the ground, would you really be able to move freely with levitate in an area that's somewhere up in the middle of the sky? I can see why you stand in one place with it, coding in the falling part would be a pain when many of the noground rooms don't have rooms below them, but to be able to move freely through an area like clouds with only lev doesn't seem right.

My interpretation was that it acted more like an anti-gravity type of spell irrespective of *what* it's above or how far above....which meant you're more floating in general similar to fly and hence can even enter these rooms (only without the bonuses).

If someone goes to smoke/clouds/etc, they don't fall continuously either, so there's *something* that randomly holds you up like that......call it the particles of smoke or cloud vapor allowing you some substance to magically stand on like ethereal plane or the fact that there is gravity enough to know which way is up and down, whatever.

Just saying from a gameplay standard, it's pretty whacked to limit it to floating over water you can just mc a raft for when invokers really lack any type of utility spells anyways. It won't unbalance the game allowing another class to have the ability to move in !ground.

It's not like we won't take enchanters around anymore 'cause invokers got the all-powerful levitate spell to move in !ground rooms. And fly items will still be worth getting for the people who use them and the places they come from-like devas, angel, and faerie wings.

Umm, hate to bring this up again, but could fixing this be moved up a step in the priority list.
It sucks to wander into a permadark, !ground, !tele room, with only lev up, then be unable to leave. So fun not being able to see anyone either, which becomes part of another post on adding to the amount of stuff we can do in magically dark rooms.
